The Current Situation And Countermeasures Of Students' Extracurricular Life In Rural Boarding Middle Schools

With the policy of canceling teaching centers and merging primary and middle schools,boarding schools have been widely distributed in rural areas all over the country.The boarding students correspondingly increased.The extracurricular life of boarding students promotes the all-round development of students,improves their comprehensive quality,and relates to the progress and development of the whole compulsory education.This paper takes the four rural boarding junior middle school students in L County of Shandong Province as the research object,using the questionnaire survey method and the interview method,including occupation and domination of spare time,organization and frequency,facilities,teachers and students' understanding of extracurricular life,students' differences for the needs of their extracurricular life,students' motives for extracurricular life,students' satisfaction of extracurricular life.The data and interview results are analyzed.It is found that there are problems like less time for extracurricular activities and unreasonable utilization;the content of extracurricular life is not comprehensive,the number of school activities is few;the lack of active sites,the low utilization rate of activities facilities;the school activities have not taken the differences of students into account,backward school management concept;lack of qualitative evaluation and so on.In the analysis of the reasons that restrict the development of extracurricular life in rural boarding middle schools,this paper analyzes from the following aspects: the government role is unknown,the supervision and evaluation mechanism needs to be improved;the lack of necessary funding support;unreasonable teachers' structure and lack of full-time life teachers;the wrong concept of extracurricular life;the lack of relevant rules and regulations.Finally,the countermeasures and suggestions are put forward to improve the extracurricular life of the students in the rural junior middle school,mainly from theconcept,implementation and security aspects.Including: to improve the management concept of extracurricular life,to strengthen the consciousness of the students;to choose the actual and comprehensive content of the extracurricular life in the countryside and the decentralization of the organizational rights in the spare time;extracurricular activities should be adapted to local conditions and according to the school conditions;establish the supervision mechanism of the extracurricular life evaluation,establish the professional training system of the life teachers,set up a sound system for the security of the extracurricular life,form the system of evaluation in the school system,improve the treatment of the teachers,improve the living conditions of the teachers,and raise the funds in many ways.
