As an important part of Chinese teaching,reading teaching in the background of new curriculum is prominent in Chinese teaching.At present most high school Chinese teachers and students adopt single short chapters for language materials to train the ability of reading,students read less,especially the seldom read the complete book,WeChat and other self-media reading methods have increased,adding to the students read fragmentation,narrow and shallow,not form a revealing the lines of reading ability.In such circumstances,“the whole book”reading has attracted the attention of Chinese language educators and first-line teachers.“Ultimate High School Chinese Curriculum Standards(2017Edition)”clearly reads “the whole book” as a task group for high school language teaching as an important one.The task group runs through all courses in compulsory Chinese language,optional compulsory and elective courses,and highlights the importance of “the whole book”reading teaching.This article is based on the exploration of the evolutionary course of "the whole book" reading teaching ideas,combine the contributions of Hu Shi,Ye Shengtao,and Xia Mianzun's three educationists to “the whole book” reading teaching ideas,then neaten “the whole book” reading teaching ideas and their related influence in the “Chinese Syllabus/Course Standards”;This book summarizes the related overview of “the whole book”reading teaching,the concept defintion for “the whole book”,“the whole book”reading,“the whole book”reading teaching in this article research,and induces the characteristics of the high school Chinese “the whole book” reading teaching,namely,systemic,thematic,comprehensive;According to the characteristics of high school students' psychological development and the requirements of the standard of Chinese curriculum in ordinary high school,based on “the whole book”reading teaching for expanding horizons,forming reading reading method,improve ability in appreciation of reading guidance,guidance of fiction,drama two styles of “the whole book” reading teaching,put forward the teaching idea,argument “the whole book”reading teaching effectivenessand operability related guidance strategies.
