Study On Family Social Work Intervening In Decommissioning Athletes Causing Family Conflicts

Along with the rapid development of competitive sports in our country,the requirements for athletes' professional level are higher and higher,which are including the physical quality and technical level.Therefore,the training of athletes has become more and more specific,which resultsing in the knowledge level of many professional athletes being weaker.If the athletes choose to retire from career because of injury or other reasons,the imperfect policies and insufficient social resources may bring the psychological and physiological problems of different degrees to the athletes and their families.When athletes and their families are facing with the handover of athletes' careers,it is easy to appear the phenomenon of "have grandiose aims but puny abilities",coupled with the imbalanced information among family members,and the family contradictions of different degrees caused by the lack of changes in the mode of getting along with each other,which lead to the undesirable status e.g.the alienation of athletes and family relations,the negative attitudes towards life etc.The author selects a retired athlete family for intervene and research through collecting,streamlining and analyzing the relevant documents as well as deeply observing the current situation of athletes group after their retirement.From the professional perspective of social work,follow the ethical principles of social work,basing on the relevant theories of family social work to carry out the basis of practical work.The author uses the methods of case study and behavioral observation to assist the interview skills,conducts the practical intervention to the families of retired athletes.Solve the family conflicts through family structure therapy,through the communication problems,family sub-system boundaries,family relationship patterns and attitudes when family are facing contradictions,it has achieved the normalization of family structure,the close relationship between family members,the harmonious family atmosphere,and the good changes have occurred to the physical and mental development,making friends and working of client.Finally,through the analysis and reflection on this case,provide references for the relevant family and social work practices,complement the development and optimization on the field of social work in China,as well as make the modest contribution to the development and innovation of the sports industry in our country.
