The Research On Growth Group Intervention In Social Integration Of Immigrated Adolescents

The economics in China is constantly developing and changing.In the wake of it,the urbanization process keeps accelerating which brought in a large-scale movement of population.At present,the form of population movement is basically changing from individual migration to family migration.Along with it is a crowd of immigrated adolescents who followed their parents to live in cities.But because of some multiple causes from family,society and themselves,they cannot blend in well with social life.In view of such circumstance,this research hopes to discover specific and practical methods to facilitate immigrate adolescents integrating into society through theories,methods and technique of social work.Also,this research will test the feasibility of related theories during practice,then forming relatively complete social work service plans.In the end,we hope to provide some references and suggestions on some social work services in the future with the hope of improving the situation of immigrate adolescents to integrate into society.This research is based on my professional social worker internship in Wuhan People's Middle School.Specific to immigrate adolescents from one class of this school,we use Survey Research Methods such as interview and scale to develop Background Investigation and Demand Analysis.According to the result of Demand Analysis,we determine the service goal and we use the modality of “Growth Group” to develop specific services.After the service,we evaluate the effect and the result shows that the “Growth Group” indeed has some positive influences on promoting immigrate adolescents to integrate into society.Meanwhile,this research is also projecting some following conclusions: Firstly,we still need to upgrade the level of immigrate adolescents who should integrate into society,which requires professional social workers to get involved.Secondly,for services of teenagers,the “Growth Group” mode has more advantagescompared to traditional group work mode.The last but not the least,in order to promote social integration of immigrate adolescents,it requires multiple social work methods to use cooperatively.In addition,this research has given some scientific suggestions on how to promote immigrate adolescents to integrate into society: It is important to pay attention to the development of immigrate adolescents' personal abilities,and their psychological adjustment.It is important to expand support from the school,as well as enhance support function from family.The government should promote the innovation from both institutions and culture.The mass media should increase positive publicity about immigrate adolescents.And it is of vital significance for city communities to show their support on immigrate adolescents.
