With the rapid development and changes of society,teachers have gradually been affirmed as a professional career.In order to improve the professional growth of teachers,one of the necessary conditions is to continue the on-the-job training of teachers,which is also a necessary factor for the growth of teachers,as well as their rights and welfare.The new curriculum reform was initiated by the state in the fall of 2001,and it can be achieved by the training for different levels of teachers.Based on the requirements of the new curriculum reform,this paper discusses the significance of continuing on-the-job training for teachers.At first,on-the-job training is the product of social development,and promotes the social progress;secondly,teachers need lifelong learning;thirdly,in the pluralistic era,teachers are required to participate in training uninterruptedly.This paper analyzes the present situation of on-the-job training of P high school teachers through questionnaire surveys and interviews of some teachers in this school.The contents include: on-the-job training level of P high school teachers,the on-the-job training content,the development of the training,the training channel,the training methods,the training approaches,and the effect of the on-the-job training.At the same time,this paper also reflects the problems existing in P high school teachers training such as lack of complete training organization,lack of research,little guarantee work in the process of training,low popularity,unsatisfactory effect,and the incomplete training evaluation system.The paper aims to change the status through the following ways: first,schools should strength the training institutions;second,schools should improve the training process;third,strengthen the construction of guarding the training conditions;fourth,strengthen the effect of school-based training;fifth,establish the follow-up guidance services;lastly,improve the effect of the training organization.I hope that the demonstrations in this paper can play a certain role in promoting the development of teachers on-the-job training in P county.And it would also advance the progress of on-the-job training,and encourage teachers to actively participate in on-the-job training,increasing the quality of education.
