| At the beginning of the 21st century,with the arrival of increasingly huge aging population and the new media age,new media is popular with the elder under a growing network technology as well as a prosperous living standard.New media plays an important role in life.Therefore,many people are concerning about sharing the benefits of mobile intelligence with the elder to meet their needs related to science and technology.Based on the reality of our society and community,the social workers strive to solve the problems such as“unable to use”or“dare not use”by the form of group work for the elder in order to help them improve their skills and overcome the fear of new media thus they can help each other by the guidance of the workers.This paper is attempting to study the necessity and the feasibility of instructing the elder,by group work,to adapt to the new media.In this paper,the author chose Baoding XHY community as the base of action and research.Under the guidance of the group dynamics theory and the theory of empowerment,the author organized a study group of operating smart phones for the elder.Activities in this group,aming at the establishment of a stable peer support platform for the elder,formed three stages including seven types which has taken“usability”,“taking the elder as the center”,and“emotion”as goals.In this way,we can study the effectiveness of group work in managing the adaptation of the elder to new media.This study has a strong practical nature of social work for the elderly.The sorting and reflection of the group work process can be applied to the improvement of skills and ability in social adaptation of the elder so as to provide suggestions for the aging population programs in the Internet era. |
