Chinese Modern essay teaching is a very important part in Chinese teaching and it is a basic approach to cultivate and improve students' overall ability.However,modern essay teaching is always not so good as we expect,sometimes teacher are even doing useless efforts.Although,teachers have tried many teaching methods,the results are often disappointing.In order to get rid of this awkward situation,this paper is going to explore some pointed and effective methods from the perspective of target students.This paper is trying to do a deep research on the students of Grade 1and Grade 2 in Tumod Left Banner No.1 Middle school,using documentary method,case analysis method,survey method.The paper mainly focus on the research of modern essay teaching in this school.The author is trying to find proper methods based on the real situation and students' learning ability of the school so that some more effective and practical suggestions could be given to the modern essay teaching.This paper consists of three parts,which include the instruction,the main part and the conclusion part.The instruction part mainly talked about the reason,the meaning,the history and current situation of this research.Besides,the research idea and methods are also mentioned.The first part of this paper is the analysis of the current research,so as to discover the problems in modern essay teaching.On the one hand,the research was done from the perspective of teachers' quality when dealing problem,the particular emphasis on modern essay teaching and the usage on how to teach modern essay,so that the shortcoming of teacher's teaching in modern essay teaching could be found.On the other hand,from students' perspective especially their initiative,habit,motivation and their expectationand confusion when reading the modern essays,in the end,their disadvantages while leaning modern essay would be clarified.The second part is the research of reasons and problems in modern essay teaching.Based on the questionnaire of teachers and students.This part concluded four main problems in the modern essay teaching.By analyzing those problems,the author concluded that the insufficiency of students' basic knowledge,their weak overall Chinese ability,teachers' too much focus on the scores and inadequate reading environments in our society finally cause the problems.The third part is the five suggestions on how to improve the modern essay teaching in Tumod Left Banner No.1 Middle school.First,teachers should change their teaching attitudes and try to focus on improving students' overall quality and ability.Second,the usage teaching method should combine with students' specific situations.Third,pay more attention to students' personal experience and feelings in class.Fourth,strengthen the guidance of students ‘ modern essay reading in class and outside class.Last,try to make good reading environment in school,family and society.In conclusion part,the procedure and findings of the research are concluded.The direction of future efforts is clarified.
