Reading teaching occupies an important position in Chinese teaching and prose is the dominant genre for reading teaching in primary schools and middle schools in China. With the development and popularization of the Internet and information technology, modern and contemporary prose reading teaching should keep pace with the time and we should change the traditional reading concept and emphasize the cultivation of students' individualized reading needs and aesthetic appreciation ability.Under this background, the concept of flipped classroom has entered the vision of people. It has reversed the sequence of traditional teaching of modern and contemporary prose reading. With the help of micro teaching videos, flipped teaching brings knowledge imparting ahead of class and help students internalize the knowledge in class. The reading teaching of modern and contemporary prose under the concept of flipped classroom has followed the development trend of the time for Chinese teaching, encouraged students to offer individualized reading and creative interpretation, and cultivated students' ability of cooperative inquiry. This thesis integrates the concept of flipped classroom with the teaching of modern and contemporary prose reading, conducts research from such aspects as teaching principles, methods, and sections, analyzes problems in the concrete practical application, and proposes corresponding teaching implementation strategies based on these problems. The thesis consists of the following five parts:Part One is the preface. It illustrates the research status, relevant concepts, topic selection origin and significance, and research methods.Part Two introduces the principles and methods for the prose reading teaching under the concept of flipped classroom. It mainly discusses three major principles that should be followed in the high school prose reading teaching under the concept of flipped classroom, namely the principle of textuality, the principle of autonomy, and the principle of screening;targeting the features of prose reading teaching, the thesis proposes the comment method, detailed inquiry method, and situational teaching method.Part Three introduces the models for prose reading teaching under the concept of flipped classroom.Through the literature research method, the thesis sorts out and sums up three representative teaching models under the concept of flipped classroom and discusses them in combination with the modern and contemporary prose in high school Chinese textbooks.Part Four discusses the section design and case practices for the prose reading teaching under the concept of flipped classroom. The teaching of high school modern and contemporary prose reading under the concept of flipped classroom integrates pre-class,in-class,and after-class sections, designs and conceives teaching sections from these three sections of teaching, and provides cases on application and practice for demonstration and illustration.Part Five proposes problems and strategies for the implementation of prose reading teaching under the concept of flipped classroom. The thesis takes two high schools implementing the concept of flipped classroom as the research objects, adopts the questionnaire survey method and interview research method to analyze its application, proposes problems in the process of implementation, and puts forward strategies for solving these problems. It is found through research that the reading teaching for high school modern and contemporary prose under the concept of flipped classroom can not only update the teaching concepts of teachers and build a new teacher-student relationship, but also arouse students' interest in studying modern and contemporary prose and cultivate students' ability to read and appreciate texts.Meanwhile, the thesis offers some innovation in the teaching models and teaching section design for modern and contemporary prose reading and provides new directions for the teaching of modern and contemporary prose reading in high schools.
