“Group Reading Teaching Method”,which is short for “Group Reading”,due to its character of crossed text style and diversity in reading material,can improve reading efficiency in the classroom within limited time range.Therefore,it is adopted by teachers of compulsory education.However,its application among senior high school teachers is not frequent.Along with the reform of college entrance examination,the traditional culture of China has been more valued.As one of the carriers of traditional culture,Chinese ancient writing possesses an inevitable important part of Chinese textbook.However,it is also a difficult teaching assignment for teachers and there exists controversies among teachers.In order to work out a new solution and get breakthrough,frontline teachers are making efforts so that Chinese ancient writing can function well in inheriting excellent traditional culture.Group Reading Teaching Method may be affective attempt to get through difficulties.It lays emphasis on respecting students' independent reading experience,following student-centered teaching philosophy,giving the right of classroom discourse back to students and proving students with multiple styles of reading material so that students can learn,think and gain.This thesis focuses on the practicability and teaching strategies of Group Reading in teaching Chinese ancient writing in senior high school and the thesis can be divided into the following five parts:Part one is a general introduction in which research background,research method,theoretical foundation and literature review,as well as the concept and origin of group reading teaching method are described.Part two discusses the teaching value of applying group reading teaching methodin senior high school.To make this clear,teaching status of Chinese ancient writing in senior high school and the advantages of group reading teaching method will be included.Part three mainly introduces teaching strategies and models of Group Reading.Teaching strategies insists of three aspects,namely the formation of topics,the selection of texts and how to intergrate teachers and students while teaching models includes two dimension namely extension from one passage to many and multiple passages within one period of class.As a teaching model that are side by side with current one single passage reading,front line teachers need to pay attention to the roles of teachers and the status of students to better deal with the relation between one single passage reading and group reading as well as the co-relationship among passages.Part four presents the analysis of some classical demonstrations from expert teachers to showcase how they apply group reading teaching method in teaching Chinese ancient writing in senior high school,together with teaching designs of applying group reading in daily teaching.Practical cases studies are used to analyze teaching status of group reading in senior high school.Part five makes a summary of the thesis.
