A Study On Thai Translation To The Words In Experiencing Chinese

Learning vocabulary is a key point in classroom teaching.In order to help foreigners in mastering Chinese well,Chinese language textbooks for oversea learners have made full explanation of new words.Exact new words translation can provide students a fast way to learn them,to understand their meanings and functions,which can improve efficiency of learning Chinese.However,inexact translation will make lots of trouble for the learners,and it will lead to a deviation of the meanings of the new words for the learners.“Experiencing Chinese” with vivid practicality is a widely used text in Thailand.And it is chosen as one of the main textbooks for junior high and high school students.This article,makes a study on the translation of news words in Thai language in “Experiencing Chinese” of junior high school series(1-3),which are cooperatively edited by Hanban and Council for Basic Education of Thailand Ministry of Education.The specific way is to do both an analysis and a summary to the new words translated by Thai language in the textbooks.The author also takes the measure of questionnaire,which research on the effects on Thailand students' deviation caused by translations problem.The paper aims to study on two aspects.One is to do a classification and analysis of the translation problems which occurs in new words translated by Thai language in the texts.The other is the questionnaire research.It includes two parts.Part one is the effectiveness of new words translations in Experiencing Chinese series.Part two firstly lists deviations of the meanings of the new words for the learners.Then it comes a explanation by data-analysis.At last,it provides some proper suggestions to the problems above.
