From the late Q ing Dynasty to now,the writing of the Sino-Japanese War of 1894 change dynamically in the different middle school history textbooks, which is presented by different emphasises at different stages.During the late Q ing Dynasty and the Republic of China, the history textbooks wrote the Sino-Japanese War briefly just like narrating a general historical event superficially. After 1922,the description of the Sino-Japanese War was enriched little by little. In the shadow of the national crisis of the 1930 s,the edition of the Sino-Japanese War reached a climax, the perspectives of the causes of the war were diversified, the narrative of the war was vivid, and the results of the war was analysed deeply, highlight the aggression of war.In the early years after the founding of the People's Republic of China, influenced deeply by the Marxist historiography, historians attached great significance to the Sino-Japanese War which was considered as an important part of pushing the China into a semi-colonial and semi-feudal society and deepened the degree of semi-colonialization of the China greatly. At that time, the edition of textbooks was under the unified management of the government. The class struggle and the concept of revolutionary history influenced the presentation of the Sino-Japanese War of 1894.Following the reform and opening up,after the 1990 s,the writing of the war is more plentiful and full of logic, and more scientific and more reasonable since 2000.The changes of the writting of the Sino-Japanese War in the middle school history textbooks were deeply influenced by many factors.I tried to arrange the changes of the Sino-Japanese War in textbooks in the past 100 years in order to glimpse the real appearance of the Sino-Japanese War.I also hope to provide some references to the writting of the textbooks and to the teaching of the history in middle schools by analyzing the motivations of the changes.
