Research On The Marital Power Relations Of New Generation Of Migrant Workers Under The Background Of Migration Difference

In recent years,with the increase in the proportion of women migrant workers and married migrant workers,this group of migrant workers has begun to receive more and more attention.When investigating the marital power relations of the new generation migrant workers,we found that in situations where the education level is not high and the economic resources are even more vulnerable,women in some families sometimes have more marital power,which cannot be explained well by classical family sociological theories such as resource theory or cultural norm theory.Therefore,this article analyzes how new generation migrant workers' marital power relations interact and build from the perspective of couples' different urban mobility experiences,which is also the most important characteristic of this group.Specifically,it is to study how the new generation migrant workers are influenced individually by the differentiated urban mobility experience,and then to study how this influence can play a role through personal interaction in the relationship.In this paper,qualitative research methods were used to interview 25 new generation of migrant workers' families without specific structures.By investigating their urban mobility experience,we find that different urban mobility experiences have led to differential personal modernity acquisition.The new generation of female migrant workers in large cities and working in the business services industry can get more personal modernity under the combined effect of working mechanism,urban civilization and Internet media.It is embodied in a stronger sense of personal efficacy,communication skills,an open attitude toward dissidents and new things,a stronger ability to use the Internet,and more attention to public events.On the basis of this conclusion,through the investigation of the new generation migrant workers' couples in family major decision-making and interaction in daily life,we find that those wives with more modernity can always make the husband approve of their decision through counseling and other means.This is mainly due to the fact that when the patriarchy is out of place and the family is still in the urban field,personal modernity is a kind of “values,life attitudes and social behavior patterns that can smoothly adapt to life in modern society”,making wives have the opportunity and ability to make decisions that are correct and conducive to the family.It is in such a correct decision one by one that the authority of the wives to interpret the meaning of life is constructed and strengthened.Therefore,the personal modernity acquired through urban mobility experience has become a bargaining power in the interaction of new generation migrant workers' marital power relations,just as economic conditions.
