Under the globalization of the economy and the ongoing promotion of China's opening-up,plenty of foreigners have come into China for doing countless businesses and other different cooperation affairs.Accordingly,the schooling demand of those foreigners' children has become the key power and essential element for establishing and developing international schools in China.Almost all nations have been constantly devoting to the reform of their education so that international schools have been established and developed boomingly,which is an emerging issue produced by the combined development of global economy and education.Since the end of the20 th century,the development of international schools has become a “golden era” and has entered a stage of stability and sustainability in some developed districts of China.Meanwhile,international schools have become an important medium in the aspect of cultural and educational exchanges between China and the world.The International schools are commonly known as the specialized institution which provide the study services from pre-education to pre-university curriculum for the migrant students worldwide.Physical education is an important section in the educating system of international schools,and apparently,physical education teaching plays an important role in the curriculum system of international schools.The study on physical education teaching of international schools can be not only helpful to judge the fundamental trend of physical education so that which can gather beneficial experience for the athletics teaching of international school,but also it can inquire physical education teaching ideology and mode of different natures of schools so that promote the teaching reform and development of China's school physical education.In this thesis,Xi'an Hanova International school is selected as the researching object.There have been making some investigations and analyses about the fundamental conditions of the school,physical education curriculum settings,teaching ways of physical education lessons,teaching aims of physical education,teaching plans of physical education,learning evaluation of sports,teaching assessment of physical education,settings of extra-curriculum sports activities by using document literature,specialist interview,observation,document analysis,questionnaire survey,mathematical statistics,logic analysis methods etc.Besides,it is concluded by using some related theoretical knowledge of pedagogy,logic and school physical education teaching theory combined with my own teaching experiences as follows:1 The physical education teachers in Xi'an Hanova International School come from different countries holding higher academic diplomas degrees,higher knowledge level and strong teaching capability.They collaborate as a tight and efficient team equipped with professional teaching qualities and a dedicated working spirit which positively serves the students,parents,school and community.2 The teaching aims and learner profile of the Middle Years Programme of physical education in Xi'an Hanova International School are very clear.There are different levels,aims and directive strategies for different physical activity programmes,which allows students to develop themselves completely and healthily both in mental and physical aspects.The school adopts the cultivating requirement and curriculum standard of the International Baccalaureate Organization.It implements the voluntary principle for students in athletics teaching of international school physical education,and focuses on strengthening students' physical qualities,reinforcing students physical awareness,motivating students' sports interests,inspiring the ideology of lifelong physical exercise,advocating the positive life attitude and healthy life habit in the physical education teaching of Xi'an Hanova International School.3 It emphasizes on cultivating the capability of individual skills and social communication,playing different roles in different sports activities,shaping leadership and executive capacity in the physical education teaching of Xi'an Hanova International School.It is also devoted to build students' awareness of competition and cooperation,showing the creativity in sports competition,being calmly facing the challenges and failure,also establishing the self-assessment through physical education.4 There are good environment,equipment and facilities for physical education teaching in Xi'an Hanova International School.The school pays attentions to the optimization of the sports teaching and learning environment,security evaluation of physical education teaching and emergency measures of athletic injuries.The policies in the physical and health education department are complete and the members of the department have their own specific and clear responsibilities.There is a type of democratic,equal and interactive relationship between students and teachers.It is encouraged that students could have different or even opposite opinions with teachers toward the academic issues.Also,it is appreciated and praised highly to discuss and debate equally toward studies between teachers and students.The teachers behave naturally,smartly and humorously in teaching lessons,and the dominant status of students reflected enough.
