The students cultivated in higher vocational education are the subjects engaged in the fields of social production,management and construction in the future.The level of social responsibility not only affects the sustainable development of individuals,but also affects the harmony and stability of society.The "sense of social responsibility" of higher vocational students is formed under certain historical conditions and lies in their deep psychological character and moral concepts,which is the consciousness and spirit of the vocational college students to take responsibility and fulfill their obligations by promoting self and social development as value orientation,and embodied in the relationship between self and society as well as self and nature.The cultivation of social responsibility sense for higher vocational college students is not only the inherent demand of higher vocational college students to enhance their professional literacy,but also the main way for colleges and universities to implement the fundamental task of the country and society to nurture people by virtue.Many factors brought about by the current economic and social changes such as the diversification of social values and the advancement of higher education popularization,have led to the weakening or even the absence of higher vocational students' sense of social responsibility.How to explore the strategy and path of cultivating the sense of social responsibility for higher vocational students from the university level is not only conducive to enriching the theory of ideological and political education for higher vocational students,but also the objective requirement of the connotation development of vocational education for the quality of talent training in higher vocational colleges.The strategies of cultivating higher vocational students' social responsibility are put forward,through literature research,questionnaire survey and interviews.The paper is divided into six parts.The first part discusses the connotation of social responsibility,the connotation and types of higher vocational students' social responsibility sense,and discriminates related concepts of responsibility.The second part expounds the value orientation of social responsibility of vocational college students through interpreting Chinese Dream's connotation as national,interpersonal and personal,and tries to put forward the value orientation of,that is,morality,dedication,skill enhancement,and refinement.The third part clarifies the necessity of cultivating the sense of social responsibility for higher vocational college students,that is,the objective requirements of the reform of ideological and political theory in colleges and universities,the inherent demand for the self-development and perfection of the students in higher vocational colleges,and the practical needs of the achievement of the citizenship education's teaching objectives.The fourth part analyzes the theoretical basis of cultivating vocational students' sense of social responsibility.In the fifth part,questionnaire survey method and interview method were implied to investigate the status quo of social responsibility of some vocational college students in Chongqing and the cultivation of social responsibility in colleges and universities.While affirming the current mainstream of the social responsibility status of vocational college students,the issue of lack of social responsibility is summarized.The reasons for the weakening of social responsibility of higher vocational students are explored from four aspects: social factors,school factors,family factors,and personal factors.The sixth part mainly proposes the strategy of cultivating the social responsibility of the vocational college students from the university level and puts forward the goal of cultivating the core values of socialism.Its ultimate goal is to cultivate responsible and qualified socialist citizens and to optimize the course system of “Two Courses” for cultivating social responsibility of colleges and universities.We should give full play to the main channel role of moral education in Ideological and political courses,and put forward the countermeasures of teaching activities to cultivate the sense of social responsibility of higher vocational students.And in order to guide the educators to evaluate the sense of social responsibility of higher vocational students,we need to innovate the content of teaching activities and try to explore the evaluation methods of social responsibility.
