The scientific literacy of citizens is an important factor that influences the prosperity of a country.The survey of many countries shows that the most important factor to cultivate public scientific literacy is middle school science education.In the "outline of scientific quality" issued by the State Council in 2006,it was pointed out that the scientific quality construction of young people should be paid special attention to.At present,there are differences in teachers and teaching between cities and rural areas in China,which may be the factors that affect scientific literacy.Therefore,investigating the differences of urban and rural students' scientific literacy and analyzing their differences are of great significance for improving the scientific literacy level of urban and rural areas and coordinating the development of urban and rural areas.From the perspective of PISA's scientific literacy assessment,this study analyzed the characteristics of all previous PISA evaluations,and selected PISA 2006,which is suitable for the actual situation of the investigated area in PISA2006 and PISA2015,to conduct in-depth analysis.Based on the theoretical research of PISA 2006 scientific literacy evaluation system,we draw lessons from PISA 2006's scientific literacy assessment and analysis methods,and combine it with practice to improve it.Through investigating the current situation of urban and rural junior middle school students' scientific literacy in Shihezi area,we have a deep understanding of the status of urban and rural junior middle school students' scientific literacy level and the difference between urban and rural areas.Shihezi area junior high school students scientific literacy level is generally low,and scientific performance generally poor level of scientific knowledge,scientific attitude level is relatively optimistic;there was no significant difference between different gender students scientific literacy in urban and rural areas;scientific literacy of junior high school students showed significant differences,the level of scientific literacy of urban students is higher than the level of scientific literacy corps the students,urban students' scientific knowledge and scientific ability is higher than the level of its students,and were very significant differences in students' scientific attitude,students are more optimistic than farms,showing significant differences;the education level of parents of different students the scientific literacy of the overall level of significant difference between urban students,the educational level of parents the parents of the students was significantly higher than that of its parents,the demand of higher education background,culture,students The level of scientific literacy is more optimistic.The research results were analyzed,the existing problems and the reasons for the gap between urban and rural junior high school students' scientific literacy were analyzed,and strategies for improving the level of scientific literacy of urban and rural middle school students were explored by combining the theoretical research of PISA.
