As a significant component of the Chinese textbooks,the help-reading system refers to a series of materials specially designed in the textbooks to help students read and understand the texts,while promoting their independent learning capability.In middle school Chinese textbooks,in addition to providing guidance for teachers' teaching design,the help-reading system offers support and serves as “scaffold” for students' independent learning and reading.In view of little academic research on the relationship between the constructivism learning theory and the middle school Chinese textbooks compiled by the Ministry of Education(2016 PEP edition),the writer was to seek a new perspective for the research and use of the help-reading system in the paper.Broken down into five chapters,the paper was aimed at the research on the help-reading system based on the constructivism learning theory for the PEP Chinese textbooks in junior high school.The first chapter was the introduction to present the significance,objectives,methods,and related concepts of the research project,coupled with the domestic research status.The second chapter was designed to brief the main content of the constructivism learning theory and expound its basic standpoint,thus arriving at that the help-reading system should comprise clear learning situations,while turning the reconfiguration based on experience into content and the active construction into the purpose by the means available to exchange and mutual assistance.In the third chapter,the status quo was investigated of the compilation and use of the help-reading system for the PEP Chinese textbooks in junior high school through questionnaires,following the data collection,analysis and sorting out.The fourth chapter concentrated on the introduction,annotation,materials andillustrations of the above help-reading system in terms of element composing,content setting,goal attainment and forms of presentation from the perspective of the constructivism learning theory to clarify the gains and losses of various elements in the help-reading system.Based on the constructivism learning theory,the fifth chapter was to propose the optimization strategies for the compilation,teaching and learning of the help-reading system for PEP middle school Chinese textbooks.First,in the programming of the help-reading system,full play should be given to the advantages of teaching text lead to fill the functional gap in the whole introduction and self-reading text lead,improving the functions including communication and mutual assistance in the unit lead words,accompanied by the inspiring reading tips of texts.Also,it was proposed to reinforce the contextual guidance,content and knowledge presentation of the annotation element on text learning.And then the paper suggested the increase in the material element for the learning situation,the setting of the serialized materials,and the enriching of the knowledge presentation forms of the material element,finally followed by the cognitive Illustrations with rich styles and suggestions for use in learning.Second,in teaching,with the grasp of students' learning status,teachers were advised to integrate help-reading resources and stimulate cognitive contradictions,leading to more cooperation and exchanges.Third,with regard to studying,students should take active construction,cooperation and exchanges with a new mindset.
