With the development of society and the progress of science and technology,new requirements have been put forward for the ability training of engineering students in the process of national development,including the requirement of solid professional basic knowledge at the cognitive level,the requirement of returning to the engineering trend at the practical level and the comprehensive requirement at the emotional value level.This paper chooses Bloom's taxonomy of educational goals as its research framework,which includes different levels of cognition,behavior and emotion,and can explore the ability of understanding engineering students from each level of subdivision.Under this research framework,the paper uses the method of combining case study with questionnaire survey to study and analyze the ability of engineering students.In the study,on the one hand,the development process of engineering students' ability at home and abroad is sorted out.and six engineering students' ability development cases are selected for case study and comparative analysis.According to the research,the ability training of engineering students in colleges and universities has the following common characteristics:on the cognitive level,it requires not only solid core professional knoowledge,but also certain ability of knowledge transfer and application;At the behavioral level,more and more emphasis is placed on the students' cognitive level to be transformed into practical results and on the ability to be exercised and improved in practice.On the emotional level,it emphasizes guiding students to deeply understand the relationship between industry,engineering and society,and effectively improve professional ethics and social responsibility.On this basis,the framework of the ability of engineering students from the perspective of Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives was established.In order to build a bridge between theory and practice,professional dimension,educational dimension and environmental dimension are introduced to consider,and the ability factors in the existing standards are screened by referring to the influence of different dimensions on the ability cognition,behavior and emotion of engineering students,and the ability framework of engineering students is constructed on the cognitive,behavior and emotion levels.At the same time,on the other hand,the research was carried out by means of questionnaire survey and data analysis.According to the ability framework of engineering students,the questionnaire was designed,361 valid questionnaires were distributed and collected for data statistics and analysis.The questionnaire was designed mainly from the external conditions supporting the development of engineering students' ability and the current situation of students' ability development.According to statistics,engineering students score higher overall,but there is still room for improvement:on the cognitive level,students' initiative in classroom participation needs to be improved;At the behavioral level,students need to be pushed to face the real social situation,solve practical engineering problems and fully practice their abilities.At the same time,the cultivation of students'emotional ability has a subtle feature and should run through the whole process of students'cultivation.
