In the very beginning of this century,the International Organization for the Economy Correlation of the Development was first to put forward the idea of the key competetencies.In 2017,the teaching idea of STEAM had been added into the curriculum standard of the compulsory education of primary science in our country to strengthen the interdisciplinary abilities of students.In order to improve the level of science teaching in prima ry schools and increase the scientific literacy of students,an investigation of science teaching in primary school was carried out by sending 970 questionnaires to primary school students from grade three to grade six,taking five primary schools of different teaching standards in Chang Zhi as an example.Research on science teaching in primary schools from four aspects: scientific activities,teaching methods,students' scientific interest and scientific teaching facilities.Researches have been made on different variables of every aspect of students of different sex and grades.In the meanwhile,comparative study of the teaching situation in different schools and factors that affect students' scientific interest has been made.By independent sample multi-factor variance analysis,we can acknowledge that students of different sex have little difference in scientific interest and students of different grade have great difference in scientific activities and scientific teaching methods,scientific interest and scientific teaching facilities.While students of grade five have great advantages in scientific activities.There are no difference in scientific teaching methods of different grades.We also found that students of grade four and six had more interest in science and were more likely to work in the scientific research area than other students.Schools of a large or little scale are much better in science teaching methods than schools of a middle scale.While in scientific interests,schools of a large scale show a great advantage than others.Schools of a large scale are better than schools of a middle scale in science teaching methods.By making a correlation analysis we found that students doing more experiments during there daily life and rising more questions during their science classes are more likely to take part into the scientific compet itions and working in science research areas.At the same time,teachers helping more students with their questions rised at class in time and make more group activities at class can help with student's interest in science.By making more exhibition activities and using proper models,material objects and pictures while teaching at class will rise the probability of students viewing science books or programs off class.
