Objective:Since the new model of National Higher Education Entrance Examination is approaching,senior high school students in Grade 1 will have to choose their exam subjects which will decide their choice of future major and have influence on the choice of future occupation.Thus,to choose the right direction,the students need to explore not only their interests,personalities,abilities and values but also the society so as to improve their career adaptability.Firstly,this study was designed to investigate the career adaptability of Senior high school students in Grade 1 and develop a targeted career guidance teaching program.Then choose the low career adaptability subjects to take part in the career guidance class intervention and analyze the effect of career guidance class program and give some educational suggestions.Methods:Firstly,the author did the questionnaire survey on 440 senior high students in Grade 1 in Yiyang to examine the status of students,career adaptability.Then,according to the career development theories,career management theories and the concept of career adaptability,the author made a career guidance class program to promote the career adaptability of high school students.Lastly,48 students who were with low career adaptability were divided into an experimental group and two control groups.There is no significant difference among three groups.Experimental group accepted a weekly career adaptability guidance class.Control group 1 received a weekly Psychological health coaching lesson whose activities were not related to career adaptability.Control group 2 did not accept any processing.12 weeks later,we tested the practical effect of the intervention program.Research showed that:(1)While most of the senior high school students in grade 1 in Yiyang have a medium level of career adaptability,few students show a low level of career adaptability.It shows a significant difference on the gender and the average score of male students is higher than that of female students.(2)Group members who participated in the career guidance class unproved their career adaptability and still maintain a high score in a month.Career guidance class can improve the level of career adaptability of senior high students in Grade 1.Conclusion:Career guidance class can improve the level of career adaptability of senior high students in Grade 1.The influence of career guidance class has persistent effect.Applying Career guidance activity class to improve career adaptability has good promotional value.
