With the development of economy and society,there are more and more postgraduates in our country.However,there are various phenomena that do not adapt to the career development in different stages of postgraduates’ career development.Combined with China’s special cultural background,Chinese parents have a greater impact on their children’s career choice and development than other countries.Therefore,this paper will explore the influence of different types of parents’ professional behavior on postgraduates’ career adaptability,so as to provide new ideas for parents to guide their children’s career development and improve postgraduates’ career adaptability.In the past,the research on career adaptability mainly focused on college students and teenagers,but less on graduate students.Therefore,the research object of this paper is the graduate students.Scholars at home and abroad focus on the internal factors,but the external factors,especially the parents’ specific professional behavior in the family dynamic factors,have not been fully studied.When exploring the influence of career-specific parental behaviors on the career adaptability of postgraduates,few scholars regard career decision-making self-efficacy as a mediating variable,and focus on the influence of parents’ professional support in career-specific parental behaviors on career adaptability,while there are few studies on parents’ career intervention and career absence.In view of the above shortcomings,this study adopts the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey and empirical analysis,this study explores the career adaptability of postgraduates who graduated from five universities in Shanxi Province,and draws the following conclusions: first,in the career-specific parental behaviors,parental career support has a positive impact on the career adaptability of postgraduates,while parental career intervention and absence have a negative impact on their career adaptability.Secondly,in the career-specific parental behaviors,parents’ career support has a positive impact on the career decision-making self-efficacy of postgraduates,while parents’ career intervention and absence have a negative impact on their career decision-making self-efficacy.Third,career decision-making self-efficacy has a positive impact on career adaptability.Fourth,career decision-making self-efficacy plays a mediating role between career-specific parental behaviors and career adaptability.This study analyzes the influence of three different types of career-specific parental behaviors on postgraduates’ career adaptability,which can guide parents to create a good family atmosphere for their children’s career development and make them have better adaptability at work;to promote the quality of career education in colleges and universities,so that graduates can better adapt to work;reduce the turnover rate of employees in the employer,and then reduce the labor cost.
