With the advent of the era of intelligence,the development of society has put forward higher requirements for human beings,especially in the quality of talents.Higher education has a long way to go in this respect.It is constantly exploring educational methods adapted to the development of the times and rationally adjusting personnel training strategies.As a product of the development of this era,"participatory teaching" pays more attention to the cultivation of talent quality,which is in line with the current hotel industry's need for high-quality talents.Therefore,the author applies participatory teaching method to undergraduate hotel management teaching.Participatory teaching method is different from traditional teaching method.It transfers the center of classroom from teachers to students.The process of students'participation in classroom is the process of learning.It not only adapts to the nature of hotel management professional curriculum and changes the traditional teaching state of undergraduate colleges,but also promotes the further development of hotel management disciplines and cultivates more excellent hotel management talents for the society.This article takes the undergraduate of 2016 hotel management major of Liaoning Normal University History and Culture Tourism College as the research object.A four-month follow-up survey is conducted on the catering management class,one of the core courses of the course.The results of the students' Participative Teaching class are empirically studied by using content analysis method.The purpose of this study is to verify two hypotheses:Participatory teaching is suitable for the teaching of hotel management courses in undergraduate courses;participatory teaching can exercise the ability of students majoring in Hotel management.Through text analysis,we can find that students and teachers are more satisfied with the classroom effect of participatory teaching,which shows that participatory teaching can be suitable for hotel management major at undergraduate level.Secondly,after participatory teaching is applied to hotel management class,students' abilities get the most,which is 55%,including language expression ability,team cooperation ability and logical analysis ability,practical operation ability,interpersonal communication ability and other abilities.This proves that the study is feasible and effective.This study demonstrates that participatory teaching method is feasible in undergraduate teaching of hotel management specialty,and has a positive significance.But if we want to popularize this teaching method on a large scale,we must plan and arrange carefully in the specific practical situation,in line with the characteristics of teachers,majors and students,in order to achieve good teaching results.Because of the small sample size,short time and limited research ability and level,this study still has limitations and shortcomings,which need further research and confirmation in the future.
