The MOBA(Multiplayer Online Battle Arena Game),also known as the ARTS(Action Real-time Strategy),is a multiplayer online tactical competitive game based on the Internet and digital virtual technology,and belonging to a kind of real-time strategy game(RTS).The goal of this game is that game players move through the fixed path by manipulating the computer unit and destroy the main structure of the opposing team.MOBA games are a combination of action games,role-playing games and real-time strategy games.They are characterized by short game introduction time,high challenge and low immersion."League of Legends"is one of the most popular MOBA games in the moment.As far as the current status of gamers is concerned,the game's statistically significant game body is male,while female players are still marginalized despite the rising trend.This study uses Judith Butler's"Gender Performativity"theory,to analyze the identity dilemma of female players as"she"in MOBA games in game practice,game text and game industry with qualitative and quantitative research methods.The identity of women in the game explores the process of constructing gender discourse in the game and the changing potential of this gender discourse.This paper is divided into four parts:The first section explains the identity dilemma of the female player who is the "she"in League of Legends;the second part uses Judith Butler's"Gender Performativity"theory to analyze women's behavioral patterns and psychological experiences,and to explore the construction of gender discourse in the game practice;the third part goes back to the women in the game text and game industry from practice,and further explores how the "she" is formed;the fourth part explores the dilemma of "she"exit and the possibility of"we"return,as well as the potential of women's self-empowerment and change in the game of practice.
