Nowadays,primary school students are under great pressure to enter higher education in school.Both teachers and parents attach great importance to exam-oriented education and training mode.In order to improve students’ academic performance,students’ physical and mental health development is neglected and students’ self-management ability is neglected.Because of the sequence and stage of human development,the primary school stage is the key period for students to form good self-management habits.This study adopts the methods of literature review,questionnaire survey and interview survey to study the self-management level of primary school students in S district of Chongqing.Firstly,this paper summarizes the literature,discusses the connotation of self-management and its components,and provides theoretical basis for the preparation of questionnaires.Secondly,this paper makes use of the self-management questionnaire for senior primary school students,investigates the status quo of self-management of 417 senior primary school students in three types of schools in S district of chongqing,including urban and rural areas and rural areas,and makes statistical analysis of the survey data,this paper summarizes the current situation and problems of self-management of senior primary school students in S district of chongqing,and analyzes the causes of the problems based on interviews with 10 parents.Finally,put forward the corresponding countermeasures to improve or enhance the self-management level of senior primary school students,promote the healthy development of senior primary school students,and provide some planning preparation for the implementation of students’ essential character and key ability to adapt to the lifelong development and social development needs.The study draws the following conclusions: the overall level of self-management of senior primary school students in S district of chongqing is above the average level.The overall level of self-management of senior students in primary schools in S district of chongqing is above the average.Moreover,there are significant differences in grade,gender,one-child status,class cadre status and school type,and no significant differences in hukou location type.Specifically,the self-management level of fourth-grade students is lower than that of sixth-grade students,the self-management level of male students is lower than that of female students,the self-management level of the non-only-child students is lower than that of the only-child students,the self-management level of non-class cadre students is lower than that of class cadre students,the self-management level of rural primary school students is lower than that of urban primary school students.On the basis of the current research,this paper analyzes the reasons for the problems in the self-ma nagement of senior primary school students and the content of interviews.(1)some parents neglect to children’s learning education,(2)unbalanced development of education in three types of schools,(3)the parents did not create a good independent environment for the children,(4)their sense of self-management is not strong,(5)parents’ parenting style is not good,(6)students lack self-confidence,(7)lack of parental touch,(8)lack of guidance from teachers.This article unifies the reason analysis to propose the corresponding countermeasure.(1)schools train parents,(2)rural schools often arrange teachers to study outside.(3)parents should learn to protect their children properly,(4)enhance the ideological awareness of self-management,(5)parents should improve their poor methods of discipline,(6)the head teacher encourages the children and builds up their confidence,(7)parents caress their children more,(8)teachers should timely grasp the law of students’ physical and mental development.
