The Relationship Between Mobile Phone Dependence And Boredom Of Secondary Vocational School Students:the Mediating Role Of Refusal Self-efficacy

The problem of mobile phone dependence caused by improper use of mobile phones has drawn the attention of all sectors of society,especially the problem of teenagers' dependence on mobile phones has become another hot issue in the field of psychology after Internet addiction.Mobile phone dependence has become a new challenge for secondary vocational school educators.In this paper,secondary vocational school students,a group of teenagers with little social attention,were selected as research subjects to investigate the characteristics of mobile phone dependence of secondary vocational school students and the relationship between mobile phone dependence and boredom and resistance to efficacy,so as to provide new ideas for the prevention and intervention of mobile phone dependence in secondary vocational schools.In this paper,732 secondary vocational school students were surveyed by using the mobile phone dependence index scale,the boredom tendency questionnaire for middle school students,the resistance efficacy questionnaire and the self-designed demographic content.Spss25.0 and Mplus7.4 were used to analyze the mobile phone dependence,boredom and resistance efficacy of secondary vocational school students,and the following results were obtained:(1)The average score of secondary vocational students' mobile phone dependence level is M=3.89(>3),which is above the average level.The overall level of mobile phone dependence of students whose parents are migrant workers is significantly higher than that of students whose parents are at home(t=-2.001,p=0.030).The total score of mobile phone dependence in the first grade of secondary vocational school is significantly higher than that of the second and third grade students(F=16.477,P=.000)(2)the average score of boredom in secondary vocational school students is M=4.89(>4),which is above the average level.There was no significant difference in demographic variables between secondary vocational school students.(3)secondary vocational students' resistance efficacy score M=2.91(>2.5),above the average level.The resistance efficacy of female students was significantly higher than that of male students(d=0.01,1-= 0.50),and there was a significant difference in the resistance efficacy on the residential area of families(t=2.224,p=0.027).On the average,the resistance efficacy of secondary vocational students living in cities was significantly lower than that of secondary vocational students living in towns.(4)the results of correlation analysis showed that there was a significant negative correlation between the perceived efficacy of resistance and the dimensions of runaway,withdrawal,inefficiency and avoidance of mobile phone dependence(p<0.05).There was a significant positive correlation between boredom and lack of involvement,stimulus seeking and self-regulation(p<0.05).Low efficiency was negatively correlated with self-regulation(p<0.05).Avoidance was significantly associated with lack of involvement and tolerance(p<0.05).(5)regression analysis showed that,without considering mediating variables,boredom directly predicted cell phone dependence(=0.073,P<.05).Boredom(=0.36,P<.01)and resistance to efficacy(=-0.61,P<.01)can directly predict cell phone dependence.(6)the direct effect in this study is equal to the path coefficient 0.365(p<0.01)from boredom to cell-phone dependence,that is,boredom can affect cell-phone dependence through resisting the sense of efficacy.The indirect effect accounted for 22.9% of the total effect,namely the effect of boredom on mobile phone dependence22.9% of the effect was achieved by resisting the sense of efficacy.The conclusion of this study is that: secondary vocational students' mobile phone dependence,boredom and resistance to efficacy and the correlation between the dimensions are significant.To some extent,boredom and the sense of resisting efficacy predict cell phone dependence,and the sense of resisting efficacy plays an intermediary role between cell phone dependence and boredom.Schools can intervene in mobile phone dependence by strengthening the cultivation of secondary vocational students' resistance sense of efficacy,improving their level of resistance sense of efficacy,and reducing the boredom of secondary vocational students through various activities.
