Objective: Mobile phones are becoming more and more popular in daily life.Students in secondary vocational school may have many problems with mobile phone use. This study intends to understand the basic conditions and structural features of mobile phone use in the secondary vocational school students by an investigation. And this study intends to analyze the relationship among Boredom Proneness,Social Support and Mobile Phone Dependence so as to explore the factors influencing on Mobile Phone Dependence in secondary vocational school students and reveal the relationship among Boredom Proneness,Social Support and Mobile Phone Dependency.Furthermore, theoretical basis for preventing and reducing Mobile Phone Dependency of students in secondary vocational school could be provided. Methods: We use convenient sampling method to select three secondary vocational schools in Yingkou city. Each school is stratified by grade with classes as a group and50% of the class in each grade is randomly selected, then all the students in these classes are selected as the respondents. We use questionnaire to investigate the status of mobile phone dependence, social support and boredom proneness.Leung et al.'s "Mobile Dependency Scale" is used to measure the degree of Mobile PhoneDependence.“Social Support Rating Scale " compiled by Xiao Shuiyuan used to measure the degree of the Social Support.“Boredom proneness questionnaire in college students" prepared by Huang Shihua et al.is used to measure the degree of the Boredom Proneness.SPSS17.0 software is used for basic statistical analysis, and three-step linear regression analysis is used to analyze the role of Social Support in the relationship of Boredom Proneness and Mobile Phone Dependence, and path analysis by AMOS 21.0software is used to further establish relationship model among them.Results:1.The Mobile Phone Dependence situation in secondary vocational school students In this study,1277 valid questionnaires were collected.144 students were diagnosed as Mobile Phone Dependence and Mobile Phone Dependence rate was 11.3% with 95%confidence interval 9.5% ~ 13.0%.Mobile Phone Dependence rate for boys was 6.8%,13.2% for girls, the rate for girls was higher than that for boys.Mobile Phone Dependence rate in medical students(14.9%)was higher than that in technical students(6.3%).Mobile Phone Dependence rate for students from high-income family(18.6%)was higher than the rate for those from the middle-income(11.2%)and low-income family(8.9%).Mobile Phone Dependence rate for students who fell in love was 20.4%,higher than non-loved ones(9.4%).Mobile Phone Dependence rate for student cadres was 15.2%,higher than non-student cadres 10.3%.The average score of Mobile Phone Dependence in secondary vocational school students is 42,the highest score is 85,and the lowest is 17.Girls' total score and each dimension score are higher than boys'.Mobile Phone Dependence score and the score of In-Ability to Control Carving for students in non-only children family were higher than those in only child family. The score of In-Ability to Control Carving and Productivity Loss in rural students were higher than those in city students. The totalscore of Mobile Phone Dependence the score of In-Ability to Control Carving and Feeling Anxious and Lost and Productivity Loss for students who fell in love were higher than those non-love ones.2 The Boredom Proneness situation in secondary vocational school students The average score of Boredom Proneness in secondary vocational school students was 102.53,the average score per items was 3.42.The average score of Tension per items was the highest(4.27),followed by Self-Regulation(4.14),Creativity(3.79),and Loneliness(2.47)was the lowest. The average score of Internal Stimulation per items was 4.05,which was higher than that of External Stimulation(3.19).Boredom Proneness score,External Stimulation score and Monotony score,Loneliness score,Self-Regulation score,Tension score,Constraint score in Mobile Phone Dependence students were higher than those in Non-Mobile Phone Dependence students, and the difference was statistically significant.3.Social Support situation in secondary vocational school students The average score of Social Support in secondary vocational school students was35.39,average score of Objective Support was 8.40,average score of Subjective Support was 19.60,and the average score of Support Utilization was 7.39.There was no significant difference in Social Support score,Subjective Support score,Support Utilization between Mobile Phone Dependence students and Non-Mobile Phone dependence students. The Objective Support score in Mobile Phone Dependence students was lower than that in Non-Mobile Phone Dependence students.4 The relationship among Mobile Phone Dependence,Boredom Proneness and Social Support in secondary vocational school students. The score of Mobile Phone Dependence in secondary vocational school students was negatively weakly correlated with the Social Support score(r=-0.097,P<0.01)andObjective Support score(r=-0.156,P<0.01).Boredom Proneness in secondary vocational school students was positively correlated with Mobile Phone Dependence(r= 0.380,P <0.01)and with all dimensions of Mobile Phone Dependence.Social Support in secondary vocational school students was negatively correlated with Boredom Proneness(r=-0.323,P<0.01).The study analyzed the relationship among three factors and found that the direct effect of Social Support on Mobile Phone Dependence(?=-0.017)was not statistically significant. Thus Boredom Proneness played a complete intermediary role in the relationship between Social Support and Mobile Phone Dependence and Social Support appeared an intermediary effect(indirect effect)on the Mobile Phone Dependence(?=-0.125),while Boredom Proneness directly affected Mobile Phone Dependence, its direct effect was 0.381.Conclusion:1.The rate of Mobile Phone Dependence in secondary vocational school students was 11.3%.The rate of Mobile Phone Dependence for girls was higher than that for boys.2.Boredom Proneness in secondary vocational school students was positively correlated with Mobile Phone Dependence, and was negatively correlated with the Social Support.Boredom Proneness played a complete intermediary role in the relationship between Social Support and Mobile Phone Dependence.Social Support was negatively correlated with Mobile Phone Dependence indirectly.
