Procrastination is a consequence of bad management of time,or an action that goes along with it.Academic procrastination is a very common behavior of students and an extension of procrastination in students' study and life.When individuals often delay learning tasks,they will experience or experience the changes of complex psychological phenomena such as cognition,emotion and behavior.Many researchers at home and abroad generally believe that academic procrastination will not only affect students' task completion,but also bring adverse emotional experience to individuals.It is necessary to pay close attention to and study academic procrastination.From the 1980 s,western psychologists began to explore this problem,accumulated a number of important research results.However,domestic research on this aspect is relatively weak,most of the research is mainly concentrated in college students.From the continuity of cognition,personality growth,on the analysis of the summary of this research at home and abroad on the basis of academic procrastination research,focus groups to move to youth in the high school stage 14 to 18 years old group,through stratified sampling method,we select college and alex cheung compiled by the time management disposition scale,Zuo Yan Mei(2010)compiled by the questionnaire of middle school students' academic procrastination,Rosenberg(1965),self-esteem scale,the salween 2 high school to high school students has carried on the questionnaire sampling,understand the basic situation of present ordinary high school students academic procrastination,To investigate the basic performance of time management and self-esteem of teenagers in high school,and to analyze the influencing mechanism of time management,self-esteem and academic delay in teenagers.The purpose of this study is to use the theory of time psychology to seek an intervention mechanism between self-esteem and academic procrastination,so that we can find a feasible and effective way to improve individual self-esteem and overcome the problem of academic procrastination in the school environment.The research results show that:1.Overall,the academic procrastination level of high school students is not high: however,a small number of high school students still have high academic procrastination level.2.There were significant gender differences in the total amount of academic delay for high school students,as well as the score of delay plan and delay remedy.And boys scored significantly higher than girls.3.There is a significant difference between the total score of the academic delay scale andthe delay remedy for high school students.Urban students scored higher than rural students.4.There was a significant difference in the scores of time management disposition,time monitoring view and time efficiency view of senior high school students,and the scores of female students were significantly higher than that of male students.There was no significant gender difference in time value.5.There is a significant difference in the source of students in the time management orientation,time value and time efficiency of high school students.The time management orientation of urban students is superior to that of rural students.6.There were significant differences in the self-esteem of high school students in the variables of gender,grade,single child and place of origin.7.There was a significant negative correlation between the time management tendency of high school students and academic delay: the sense of time value,the sense of time efficiency and the view of time monitoring were also significantly negative correlated with academic delay.There was a significant negative correlation between learning delay and self-esteem.Time management tendency was positively correlated with self-esteem.Time monitoring,time efficacy and self-esteem can significantly predict learning delay.8.The time management tendency of high school students has a significant mediating effect between self-esteem and academic delay.
