Through longitudinal tracking investigation on pupils' flexibility quality,this paper provides theoretical and practical guidance for pupils' development of flexibility quality.Using the methods of literature,expert interviews,mathematical statistics and logical analysis,720 pupils from 8 primary schools in Dalian City were investigated.Their seating forward bending performance was tracked and analyzed from the gender perspective according to grade.The results show that:(1)The overall level of flexibility of boys in 8 primary schools in Dalian is good,but it is still at a lower level than that of pupils in economically developed areas.(2)Longitudinal tracing of the flexibility quality of boys in 8 primary schools in Dalian shows that the level of flexibility quality shows a downward trend first,then an upward trend and then a downward trend,but the overall level still shows a downward trend.(3)The overall level of flexibility quality of girls in 8 primary schools in Dalian is good and close to the excellent level,and they are at a higher level of development compared with developed or underdeveloped provinces and cities.(4)Longitudinal tracing of girls' flexibility quality in 8 primary schools in Dalian shows that the overall level of flexibility quality is on the rise,showing an obvious inverted "V" type.According to the longitudinal tracing analysis of the flexibility quality of eight primary school students in Dalian City from grade one to grade six,it is suggested that the flexibility quality of primary school students be improved through the following five aspects:(1)attaching importance to the flexibility quality practice of pupils' growth and development into adolescence;(2)attaching importance to the improvement of the flexibility quality of pupils by other sports quality development;(3)avoiding physical function.Reducing restricts the development of pupils' flexibility quality;(4)improving the design of teaching content of flexibility quality in primary school physical education classroom;(5)improving the scientific research ability of primary school physical education teachers in flexibility quality.
