In March 2014,the Ministry of Education issued the"Opinions of the Ministry of Education on Fully Deepening the Curriculum Reform and Implementing the Fundamental Task of Literacy and Rebuilding People"?hereinafter referred to as"Opinions"?[1],which called for the construction of the core literacy system of various subjects in primary and secondary schools.At present,there are many achievements in the research of geographical core literacy in high school,and the system is gradually mature.However,there are few research results on the system of geographical core literacy for junior high school.Geography textbooks are the carrier of geography classroom teaching,and activity column is an important part of geography textbooks for junior high school,which has the function of cultivating geographical core literacy[2].Through reading the literature materials,this study founds that there are few studies on the use of junior high school geography textbooks by the people's education press?hereinafter referred to as"PEP"?to cultivate students'geographical core literacy.Therefore,it is imperative to inquire how to use activity columns of geography textbooks for junior high school to cultivate students'core geographical literacy.Under the background of constructing and implementing the core literacy of the discipline,this study reviews the domestic and foreign literature on activity teaching,geographical activity,core literacy,and geographical core literacy,and expounds the importance of conducting this research.This study tries to inquire concept,composition,connotation and level of the core literacy of junior high school from the basic concept and the theoretical foundation of geographical core literacy and activity columns of geography textbooks.This study uses the method of literature inductive analysis to carry on the quantity statistics of activity columns and types of activities of geography textbooks published by the PEP for junior high school which contains geographical core literacy,and induces the characteristics of activity columns of geography textbooks published by the PEP for junior high school.This study investigates the views of geography teachers of junior high school on the constructing the system of geographical core literacy and using activity columns of geography textbooks published by the PEP for junior high school to cultivate students'geographical core literacy.This study discusses the relationship between the activity columns of geography textbooks published by the PEP for junior high school and the cultivation of geographical core literacy with a combination of quantitative and qualitative.This study puts forward specific training strategies from the three stages of preparing lessons,classroom teaching and after-class reflection.At the same time,this study makes an empirical study on the geography teaching of the first grade of the junior high school affiliated to Sichuan Normal University.And analyses how to use activity columns of geography textbooks to cultivate students'geographical core literacy surrounding with a specific case.The innovation of this paper is to lies in putting forward the concept,level of geographical core literacy for junior high school and using activity columns of geography textbooks published by the PEP for junior high school to cultivate students'geographical core literacy.The conclusions of this paper are as follows:First,junior high school geography is the foundation of high school geography.The basic concept of geography core literacy runs through the geography teaching of junior high school.The construction of junior high school geography core literacy system is very necessary.Its composition and connotation should be basically the core of high school geography.The composition and connotation of primes are basically the same.Secondly,the core literacy of junior high school should have four levels that are obviously different in terms of situation,behavioral action,geographical environment elements,thinking and ability,and have certain guidance for guiding junior high school geography teaching.Thirdly,activity columns of geography textbooks by the PEP for junior high school play an important role in cultivating students'core literacy.Fourthly,the cultivation of junior high school geography core literacy should run through the whole teaching stage,and the teaching strategy proposed in this paper has certain feasibility.
