In recent years,our country has made great efforts to develop vocational education and introduced various policies to make it more attractive.Under the reform of teacher qualification admittance,more and more teachers with non-normal education are crowding into the teaching staff.These teachers lack basic theories of education and practical experience.Once they start to work,they should not only switch the role from students to teachers,but also bear the pressure brought by teaching,the change of environment,the gap between ideal and reality,etc.They usually face great pressure and strong frustration in education and teaching.The induction stage of new teachers is a critical period in their professional development process,which will affect their orientation and attitude towards professional development in the future.Therefore,it is worth studying the occupational adaptation of new teachers in vocational schools.This paper mainly adopts the qualitative research method and selects two new teachers with non-normal education from M Nursing School in Sichuan Province as the study objects.The writer participated in the daily teaching activities of new teachers with non-normal education by means of interview,literature survey,observation and other research methods.Through the communication with these two teachers and the collation of the interview data,this paper analyzes the current situation of their occupational adaptation from three aspects,namely,vocational cognition,teaching ability and professional environment,to find out the problems in their occupational adaptation.The case study shows that the factors that influence new teachers' adaptation in vocational schools are mainly from the new teachers themselves and the schools.New teachers' career motivation,personal characteristics,professional knowledge and ability,career planning,inefficient training and heavy teaching tasks have great impact on new teachers' occupational adaptation.This study presents some suggestions for the new teachers with non-normal education to get through the adaptation period better and faster.New teachers should play the main role in their adaptation.Moreover,it's essential for school to support and help new teachers.Administrative departments of education should also provide guarantee for the new teachers.For new teachers themselves,they should be prepared to engage in the teaching profession and establish a positive professional attitude before entering the profession,plan career as soon as possible,be aware of lifelong learning,as well as reflect.As for the schools,the pre-service training based on the demand of new teachers with non-normal education should be explored.Schools should also improve the mentoring system,establish a reasonable evaluation system and provide post-service continuing education for new teachers with non-normal education.Meanwhile,other teachers in school should give new teachers more care and help.
