History is a basic course in humanities.History textbooks,as an important resource of history courses,are the media to help students understand society.At present,Taiwan's basic education is a nine-year system,and the history subject of junior high school has been integrated into the social curriculum.Studying the structure,content and characteristics of the history textbooks in Taiwan can provide reference for the compilation of the textbooks.This paper chooses the Hanlin edition of social course(History)textbook in Taiwan as the research object,and tries to examine it from three aspects: first,how the content of social course syllabus in Taiwan leads the compilation of history textbook;second,macro and micro investigation of the textbook structure;third,in-depth analysis of historical events,characters' writing and viewpoints in the book.The author believes that the compilation of this set of history textbooks conforms to the cognitive level of teenagers,and it is worthy of our reference in the aspects of authenticity,interestingness,versatility and value guidance in the compilation of history textbooks.Its auxiliary information is complete,and it is a good set of multi-functional student textbooks.But it adopts the so-called "concentric circle" structure in content,which contains a lot of "de-Chinese" narrative.In addition,there is a lack of teaching of historical materials in textbooks and a lack of cultivation of students' historical thinking ability.Examining this set of textbooks gives us some enlightenment: the compilation of history textbooks should strive to respect history and restore the truth of history.At the same time,we should pay attention to interesting,in line with the understanding of young people.The textbook should not only be a narrative of historical content,but also be a multi-functional textbook.The textbook should also have correct value guidance and cultivation of subject thinking ability,which is also the soul of the compilation of history textbooks.
