History textbook is the basic texts of students' learning process,the main foundation for teachers to develop educational work,and an important blueprint for the implementation of curriculum standards.The study of history textbook plays an important role in historical education.The main reasons of this thesis selects the third set history textbooks for junior school student from Malaysian Chinese Independent High School are as followed:Firstly this set of history textbooks is written in Chinese,adopting concentric history conception.Its units are divided by countries,and the historical events are the key links of class.This set of textbook has three volumes which are divided in chronological order as ancient,modern and modern.The book also especially pays attention on students' learning and understanding of the universal connection and mutual influence of historical development in political,economy,nation,culture,time and space.Secondly the book includes a large quantity of Chinese history,especially the political and cultural history of ancient China.On the side,the Malaysian National History section highlights the contribution of old Malaysian Chinese sages to the country's economic,political,cultural and educational development.These all express the recognition of Chinese traditional culture and the Chinese ethnic identity among Malaysian Chinese social community.Thirdly the academia has very little research on the history education of Malaysian Chinese Independent High School,and much less research on the history textbooks of selected.Thus author hopes that this thesis can attract more attention.This paper utilize method of literature analysis,quantitative statistics and case analysis.The first part explains the development history and background of the Chinese Independent High School and Chinese education in Malaysia,as well as the setting of the history curriculum and the evolution of history textbooks.The secondpart introduces the structure system of the third set of junior high school history textbooks of Chinese Independent High School.It includes two parts: the text system and the assistant system.The former's introduction system,main body system,text explanation system and the latter's chronological tables,unit review,maps,forms,evaluation systems are discussed in detail.The third part counts the proportion of the main content of each category history of the textbook,and selects the Malaysian history,world history and Chinese history to explore their respective characteristics.The last part summarizes the characteristics of this set of history textbooks in the arrangement and content selection.Moreover some inspirations and reflections are obtained from the connection between the structure system and text content,the cultural identity and political identity of Malaysian Chinese.
