In 2014,China promulgated a pilot program for the reform of the New College Entrance Examination,Shanghai and Zhejiang provinces took the lead in implementing the pilot program.The program highlights the concept of selectivity.Colleges choose students according to their own characteristics,while students choose subjects and majors according to their own interests.This new college entrance examination pilot program brings the career development education of high school students into people's sight once again.Not only students have to constantly face choices in the three-year learning process,but also school enhance the importance of career development education.Good career planning ability can help college freshmen to have a much clearer direction and strong motivation in learning,interpersonal relationships and life adaptation of college,making their mental health in a better level.In this study,785 freshmen of Grade 2018 from 5 universities in Shanghai and Zhejiang provinces were investigated with the Career Planning Questionnaire,the Chinese College Students Mental Health Scale and the Chinese College Students Adjustment Scale to explore the relationship between career planning ability,college adaptation and mental health(anxiety,depression).The following results are obtained:(1)There was no significant difference of freshmen's career planning ability in gender.The undergraduates' career planning ability who came from pilot area were significantly higher than that of the non-pilot area.The only-child college students' career planning ability and college adapt ability were higher than that of the non-onlychild.The interaction between the origin and whether if the only-child family is significant in the dimension of anxiety.The anxiety degree of the only-child undergraduates in the pilot area is higher than that of the non-only-child,and the anxiety degree who came from the only-child family in the non-pilot area is lower than that of the non-only child.(2)Career planning ability could predict college adaptation positively and predict mental health negatively.And career planning ability could predict mental health negatively.(3)College adaptation mediating the effect of career planning ability on mental health(anxiety,depression).(4)The place of origin moderated the effect of career planning ability on mental health(depression,anxiety).The simply analysis of the slope showed that freshmen from pilot area has more influence in anxiety and depression than the non-pilot area.The conclusion is drawn as follows: Under the background of college entrance examination reform,career planning ability is affected by factors such as ground source and only-child.It suggests that college students' career planning ability may not only affect the level of anxiety and depression directly,but also affect the level of anxiety and depression indirectly through college adaptation.Based on the above research findings,it is necessary to strengthen high school career planning education.At present,Our country didn't value career planning education,it pays much attention on theory other than practice in course content,different regions have different education level,therefore this research puts forward the corresponding educational countermeasures and suggestions: Improving the legal system related to vocational education;Train professional teachers and design courses according to local conditions;Using the main subject education,infiltrate the concept of career planning,and cultivate students' awareness of career planning imperceptibly.
