Education is the foundation of all ages,and it should start with children.For children's education,we cannot rely solely on school education or family education.We must cooperate with each other to help children develop in an all-round way and grow healthily.Parent-teacher conference is a bridge between teachers and parents,which is the oldest and the most familiar form of home-school cooperation between parents and schools.However,due to various reasons,nowadays parent-teacher conferences are mostly formalized or practiced unilaterally,which seriously frustrates parents' and teachers' enthusiasm.Taking the parent-teacher conferences of Shanghai S Middle School as the research object,I use documentation methods,case study,questionnaire survey and interview to investigate and study the participants of parent-teacher conferences of S Middle School,the purpose and degree of participation of teachers and parents in parent-teacher conferences,the form and content of parent-teacher conferences,the follow-up feedback and effectiveness of parent-teacher conferences.Through the collation and analysis of the questionnaires and interviews,this paper thoroughly analyses the current situation of the parent-teacher conferences of the school,finds out the following main problems: 1.Teachers' preparation before the meeting is insufficient;2.The content of the meeting is solidified and the form is single;3.The auxiliary teachers and students are neglected in the participants;4.Although parents attach importance to the parent-teacher conferences,their sense of participation is not strong;5.The follow-up feedback of the parent-teacher conferences is simple and hasty.After analyzing the causes of these problems,I put forward a series of solutions and suggestions to improve the junior high school parent-teacher conferences from three aspects: schools,teachers and parents.Schools should implement the training of teachers before parent-teacher conferences,invite associate teachers and students toparticipate in parent-teacher conferences,and establish the rules of parent-teacher conferences system;teachers should make full preparations for parent-teacher conferences,constantly explore parent-teacher conferences with changeable contents and novel forms,and more importantly,pay attention to feedback work after the conference;parents should enhance their awareness of cooperation with schools and teachers,and make themselves clear role orientation.Schools,teachers and parents need to reach a consensus to strengthen the awareness of communication and cooperation between home and school,and promote the healthy growth of students.
