A Study On The "News Broadcasting" Winter Olympics Report And The Construction Of National Identity

As an important part of the international Olympic movement,the Winter Olympics is the highest level of international competitions in winter sports,and news reports often use it as a quality material for building national identity.Sports news reports,especially large-scale sports competitions such as the Olympic Games,will become a symbol of culture and become a kind of "news interview" with meaningful meaning.In a variety of media,TV sports news reports outline a comprehensive and three-dimensional picture of the stadium with its visual + text communication characteristics.When we talk about the Olympic champions in our country,we will always give birth to a sense of national pride.In a deeper sense,this connection comes from the audience's subjective recognition of a certain "nation" or "state."This article is based on the TV Winter Olympics report for text analysis,select the "News Network" program with national symbolic significance as the research subject,and use the literature,texts for the reports of the three Winter Olympics in Vancouver,Sochi and Pyeongchang.Analytical methods,combined with China's historical background and social conditions,explain and analyze the TV text.The study found that CCTV's "News Network" continuously strengthened the emphasis on the Winter Olympics report,and constructed the national identity from four levels,which is reflected in the following: through the attention of the national sports delegation,the "China" Identity to construct a sense of national similarities and differences;construct a sense of national belonging through visual symbols,traditional Chinese culture,and special vocabulary;construct a sense of national loyalty through "patriotism" discourse,national leaders' reports,national symbols;and demonstrate the development of China's sports industry Prospects,preparations for the 2022 Beijing-Zhangjiakou Winter Olympics to build a national ideal.At the same time,it was found that the meaning of "sports strong China strong" in the media reports changed,not only in the number of medals,but also in the participation of the whole people and the national health;the media coverage of the Winter Olympic Games highlighted the role of sports in the political field.The impetus reflects China's vision of world peace and friendship,the diplomatic relations between China and Russia,and the importance of the Winter Olympics.It also demonstrates the support and recognition of the International Olympic Committee.
