The media image is the audience's cognition of mass media and its representation.There are two different dimensions of media image in the study of mass communication.Another dimension is the "image in media" of people or things,that is,the image of people or things reproduced by mass media organizations.Based on such a perspective,this paper examines the images of female athletes in sports network reports that are common in People's Daily life,and explains the reasons for the formation of female athletes' images in online sports reports and their impact on the society.Female media images are created by culture and system before they become stereotypes in consciousness.Similarly,the stereotype of women created in online sports reports can in turn have an impact on women themselves.Since human society entered the 21 st century,the awakening of female consciousness has become the focus of attention.Feminism is a collection of political movements,values,and social activities.These activities and values have something in common: fighting for women's equal political,economic,personal and social rights and interests with men in this society.This paper USES the methods of literature,data analysis and comparative analysis to study the media image of female athletes.The structural difference between male and female athletes in sports activities is the realistic basis for the narrowing of the media image of female athletes,and it is difficult for related subjects involved in sports news communication to break out of the traditional negative concept.The third part of the paper selected sina.com,tencent,netease network sports reports as well as mainstream sports website home page for multi-angle and multi-layer research,using persuasive data,charts,text case analysis.Through sample data processing and comparative analysis of male and female athletes' data,this paper expounds the alienation and narrowness of female athletes' media image in news reports,the entertainment and vulgarization of female athletes,and the lack of female athletes' right of expression and right of speech.In explore various network sports report after the characteristics and the causes of female athletes image rendering,the networkshould be how to achieve gender equality in sports reports suggest specific strategies,and draw the outline of this thesis further research Suggestions,depicted in the feminism media research background,the network of female athletes in sports coverage image research prospects.Therefore,we should attach importance to the liberation and development of women's sports,and hope to arouse people's attention to women's participation in sports through research,so as to show the multi-media images of women in sports and increase social recognition.
