| Under the goal of setting moral value to calculate students which is proposed by the community party and the requirement of national medium and long-term reform and development plan in education area,geography extension course,which is an effective method to help students to establish individual consciousness and to enhance students’ability in individual academic planning,is very significant and useful in improving and fostering students’ competences in practical geography learning.This paper reaches the conclusion by conducting questionnaire survey and interviewing students and teachers.Also,the paper investigates and analyzes the current geography extension courses implemented in Fuzhou’s senior high school.What’s more,this research designs and implements three different extension courses in Fuzhou 18th Middle School to test the effectiveness of extension courses.The next but not the last,the paper concludes that to promote the practical ability in geography learning for students,teachers should obey two rules:First,extension courses should be designed with diversity and open-minded,and the teachers also should focus on improving students’ ability in independently thinking and spontaneous learning.Second,teachers need to choose and design their teaching methods carefully and effectively.Here come to the last,I put forward four suggestions in improving students’ geographic practical ability with the use of extension courses:First,combining basic geographic courses with some ideas of extension courses.Second,emphasizing the functions of extension courses,especially the function of cultivating students’practical ability.Third,enriching and diversifying the content of extension courses.Forth,innovating functions of course evaluation mechanism to truly encourage teachers to implement and design extension courses,improving students’ geographic practical ability with the implementation of extension course. |
