The aging of population has developed into an important issue in the world,and this problem is more serious in China.With the rapid growth of economy and the improvement of medical standard in recent years,the health condition of Chinese residents has been greatly improved.The mortality rate has been declining,and the life expectancy of Chinese residents have continued to grow.At the same time,the scale and proportion of the elderly population in China are constantly rising,and the process of population aging is accelerating.It is projected that by 2050 China could have a staggering 115 million elderly citizens over 80 years old.The rapid development of population aging will inevitably affect health care consumption.Therefore,it is very important to research that the effects of an aging society on the consumption and health care consumption of urban and rural residents in China in this background.In this paper,the current situation of the relevant issues were carefully summarized,the research methods and research conclusions of domestic and foreign scholars are reviewed,the research ideas and methods were established on the basis of previous studies,and the basic theories involved in the research were determined.After this step,using the inter-provincial panel data and least squares regression method from 2001 to 2016 to conduct empirical research on urban and rural,urban and rural areas,through empirical research,the paper analyzes the impact of China's urban and rural population aging on consumption structure and the aging of urban and rural areas respectively and the impact of health care consumption on urban and rural differences.The main conclusion of this paper are(1)compared with the urban area,the rural elderly population has increased their dependency ratio and their health care consumption expenditure;(2)the income of urban and rural residents will directly affect the level of residents' medical and health care consumption,while the dependency ratio is positively correlated with residents' medical and health care consumption;(3)the per capita education level,health care consumer price index for health care and the impact of consumption are not significant.According to the conclusions of this paper,the following suggestions are(1)improving the income distribution structure,raise the income level of residents,and narrow the gap between the rich and poor;(2)Paying more attention to the problem of rural population aging and health care consumption in the case of more severe rural population aging;(3)improving the reform of the medical insurance system,increasing the coverage of medical insurance,and reducing the burden of medical burden on the elderly population;(4)improving medical care for the elderly in medical institutions;(5)promoting the transition from traditional medical models to new medical models;(6)implement a complete medical separation system.
