Regional geography occupies a very important position in geography teaching in the junior high school.It is not only the main component of geography education in junior high school,but also an important foundation for geography education in high school.The main feature of regional geography education is to enable students in the junior high school to learn and master the basic regional geographic knowledge and regional knowledge application ability,and to develop certain geographical and emotional values.At present,the effect of regional geography teaching in junior middle school is not ideal.With the advancement of the reform of geography curriculum education,the concept of quality education has been repeatedly reiterated and emphasized,and actively implemented in the practice of geography teaching.The new curriculum standard points out that regional geography teaching in junior middle school requires students to acquire and master relevant knowledge through independent exploration of regional geography knowledge.Advocate for independent regional geographic knowledge learning,cooperation and inquiry learning.It is the ultimate goal of regional geography teaching to guide students to gain learning experience through regional knowledge learning and to master the ability to realize their own regional knowledge network.Problem-based teaching method mainly takes "problem" as the main line,and guides students to explore independently,experience the process of discovery and construction through a series of links such as discovery,proposition,thinking,analysis,discussion and problem solving,so as to make students happy,active and easy to learn.This is consistent with the requirements of the current junior high school geography curriculum standards,which is consistent with the current goal of geography classroom teaching reform in junior high school,fully embodies the need to construct a harmonious geography classroom teaching for teachers and students,and also implements the new geography curriculum teaching concept.This study mainly uses the methods of literature research,questionnaire survey and classroom observation to analyze the relevant literature and materials on the application of problem-based teaching method in regional geography teaching in junior middle schools at home and abroad,and expounds the feasibility of applying problem-based teaching method in regional geography teaching in junior middle schools in theory.The author selects the eighth grade students and the junior high school geography teachers as the survey objects,investigates the application status of the problem teaching method in the regional geography teaching of junior high school,and analyzes the data obtained by the survey using spss11.5 software to provide data support for the research of the thesis.The results show that most teachers recognize the advantages of problem-based teaching in regional geography teaching.Through this teaching method,students 'interest in learning is enhanced,classroom participation is enhanced,and self-learning ability is enhanced.However,junior high school geography teachers have a lot of pressure on their academic work,lack of ability to create their own problem situations,lack of theoretical knowledge of systematic problem teaching methods,and insufficient personal practical experience,which leads to the optimistic teaching effect of the problem teaching method.Problem-based teaching method is applied in regional geography teaching.The source of cases is single,and there are fewer cases designed by teachers independently.Most students like problem-based teaching methods and have a high degree of preference for problem-based teaching methods.Through the problem teaching method,students have a strong interest in inquiry;the initiative of learning is stronger,which greatly improves the efficiency of learning.There fore,we should pay attention to the essentials of implementing problem-based teaching method in junior middle school geography teaching: strengthening teachers 'oral expression ability and classroom organization ability;designing problems with gradients and levels can really activate students' thinking;setting up questions and creating problem situations in junior middle school geography teachers 'teaching process;and promoting the reform of students' learning styles.
