The competency and the job performance status in quo of junior school gym teachers in Fuzhou,and the correlation between them are investigated based on the document literature method,questionnaire survey,mathematical statistics,competency of junior school gym teachers scale prepared by Zhang Changcheng,and job performance of teacher scale prepared by Zhong Yan.According to the description and conclusion of the features of high performance teachers,the competency model related to the performance of junior school gym teachers is established in order to predict their job performance,make their realization about the superiority and deficiency in the education clearer,improve the competency of theirselves,and promote the education ability and level of theirselves.According to the data,the competency score of junior school gym teachers in Fuzhou is in the "basic coincidence" region overall,which illustrates that the self-evaluation for the job competency of junior school gym teachers is on good level.The total score for the job performance ofjunior school gym teachers in Fuzhou is in the "relatively good" region,which illustrates that total feeling for theirselves job performance is on the good level basically.Meanwhile,the self-evaluation for the job performance is in the "relatively good" region totally,which illustrates that the self-evaluation for the job performance of junior school gym teachers is on the good level and indicates that the junior school gym teachers in Fuzhou accept their job performance as a whole and the acceptance of relation performance is higher than that of task performance.According to the survey result,significant positive correlation exists between the five dimensions of job competency and all the dimensions and self-evaluation of job performance.The result displays that the job competency can be used to highly significantly predict task performance,relation performance,total performance,and self-evaluation.
