The Study On Occupational Structure Change Of The Region Around Poyang Lake

Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone is the largest ecosystem function protection district in China.It is of great strategic significance for Jiangxi province,the midland and the whole country.Before the reform and opening up,people lived around Poyang Lake mainly working in the primary industry and it can see that the occupational structure was relatively single.After carried out reform and opening policy,industrialization,marketization and urbanization had promoted the transformation of industrial structure.It also boosted a lot of new kind of jobs.The labor force was gradually shifting to the non-agriculture industries.Great changes have taken place in the stable occupational structure which before the reform and opening up,moreover,it had also lead to the occupational mobility and class differentiation.With the process of industrialization and urbanization,problems such as losing of rural populations,low-end developing of industry and environmental pollution had emerged in endlessly,which seriously affected the sustainable development in ecology,economy and society.Therefore,study the change occupational structure of area around the Poyang Lake,can not only learn its economy situation and industrial restructuring,but also understand the changes of social structure and class mobility.Meanwhile,it can combine its predicament and demand to explore a suitable development path and achieve the sustainable development.This paper takes S town of D county as an example,by means of literature research,questionnaire and depth interview,and by using the theories of social stratification,social mobility,and regional sustainable development to analyze the occupational structure,occupational mobility and its development predicament in area around Poyang Lake during the period of reform and opening up.This paper has found that the changes of occupational structure of S town including: lots of occupational population shifting to Non-agricultural industry;occupational population gradually aging;occupational population's quality improving universally;middle and senior level career gender difference is evident and even existing gender segregation;big income gap takes place in different levels of occupation;occupational population work in remote place for long time,which making the countryside areas “hollow”.With the development of marketization,individual mainly changes their jobs through the market mechanism and social network mechanism instead of planned distribution mechanism.The intergenerational mobility rate is higher than the intragenerational inheritance rate of occupational populations,the influence of intergenerational occupational inheritance is weak.Individual's occupational mobility promotes their class mobility.At last,this paper would rethink the development predicament base on the areas around Poyang Lake Ecological Economic Zone and occupational structure features of S town,moreover,trying to put forward some corresponding countermeasures.
