Objectives:The main purpose of this research project is to fully understand the mental health status of students in grades 2-6 in six primary schools in Yudu,Shangrao,Duchang,Fengcheng,Dongxiang,Fuzhou and Suichuan counties of Jiangxi province.This paper comprehensively analyzes the influencing factors of rural children’s mental health in Jiangxi Province,and proposes countermeasures to improve the mental health of rural primary school students in Jiangxi Province,which provides a theoretical basis for the province to formulate the mental health policy for rural primary school students.Methods:The survey was conducted through the method of random sampling of multi-stage stratified whole groups and through the way of on-site investigation into the school.The sample counties are determined by the Ministry of Health and Family Planning of the Jiangxi Provincial Health and Family Planning Commission.We communicate with status of the sample counties to identify a sample township.Then we select the sample central township primary school as the sample school,and use the random number table to select sample schools.Since the first-year students had just entered the school and could not understand the questionnaire,the survey was started from the second grade,and finally 5 classes were selected from each school.The questionnaires were conducted by the investigators on-site and explained on a case-by-case basis.The students were asked to fill in the answers.We used theχ~2 test and exact probability method for single factor analysis and binary logistic regression analysis for multi-factor analysis,the test level isα=0.05.Results:1.A total of 1,382 questionnaires were distributed in this survey.The final valid questionnaire was 1,317,with an effective rate of 95.3%.The male to female ratio is about 1.11:1.The two-weeks prevalence rate of students was 33.3%and the detection rate of single child was 10.4%.In addition,the detection rate of single parent or other family structure was 19.4%and the detection rate of left-behind children was 25.7%.The detection rate of 3 months or more was 32.0%,the detection rate of mothers who had been out for more than 3 months was 5.1%,and the detection rate of fathers who had gone out for more than 3 months was 13.5%.2.Psychological health assessment psychological abnormality detection rate was2.1%.Age,gender,only child,non-suicidal self-injury,parental dissonance,school bullying,learning pressure has a significant impact on pupils’psychological abnormalities.The OR were 0.464,0.195,0.345,2.892,4.24,1.436,1.528,10.577,seperately.3.The detection rate of severe learning anxiety was 55.9%and the detection rate of severe allergic tendency was 17.2%.Besides,the detection rate of severe self-esteem tendency was 12.9%and the detection rate of severe terrorism was 11.9%.Age,gender,only child,parental disability,non-suicidal self-injury,suicidal intentions,school bullying,and learning pressure have positive effects on mental health in the above four aspects.Conclusion:1.The mental health status of rural primary school students in Jiangxi Province is good.The main manifestations of psychological abnormalities are learning anxiety,health problem,self-blame tendency,allergy tendency,and terror tendency.2.Age,gender,only child,non-suicidal self-injury,and learning pressure are related to the obvious abnormality of the mental health assessment scores of primary school students.Age,gender,two-week illness,one-child,mutual parents,school bullying,and learning pressure are related to the severe psychological abnormalities of the other eight primary school students.3.Parents are should advise to lead by example to reduce the length of use of mobile computers,and often carry out outdoor activities with children.The school is equipped with a professional psychological counselor while setting up a psychological counseling room and can establish a campus inspection team to reduce the occurrence of school bullying.Media or neighborhood committees and other means to help parents realize the importance of the family environment for children’s mental health development,reduce family disputes,and give children a healthy and growing family,campus and social environment.
