Professional Identity Of Social Work Postgraduates Research

As the reserve army of social work professionals,the professional identity of postgraduates has an important impact on the construction of social work professionals.According to the employment situation of postgraduates majoring in social work in H University in the past,although there is a large demand for social work professionals,fewer postgraduates will choose to engage in social work-related industries after graduation.After receiving many years social work professional education,the postgraduates still choose to work in other fields.This phenomenon has puzzled me.The professional identity of social work is the premise of postgraduates' continuous learning and future development planning.Therefore,this paper mainly explores the status and influencing factors of professional identity of postgraduates majoring in social work from the perspective of professional identity.Based on the previous scholars' research on social work professional identity,this paper analyzes the professional identity of 91 postgraduates majoring in social work from Wuhan H University under the basis of social identity theory,exploring the status of professional identity of postgraduates majoring in social work,identifying the factors affecting the professional identity of postgraduates majoring in social work,and providing effective suggestions and methods for enhancing the professional identity of postgraduates majoring in social work.The study found that:(1)the professional identity of non-professional postgraduates majoring in social work is higher than that of interdisciplinary postgraduates;(2)the professional identity of postgraduates majoring in social work with internship experience is better than those without internship experience;(3)The more interaction between tutors and postgraduates,the higher professional identity of postgraduates majoring in social work.Therefore,rational application for postgraduate majors,cultivating professional interest,ensuring quality professional internships,strengthening interaction of tutors and postgraduates,and enhancing social recognition are the keys to improve the professional identity of postgraduates majoring in social work.
