Textbooks are not only the main tools for teachers to teach,but also the main content of students'learning.Various illustrations with rich and colorful,intuitive images,wide subjects,full interest and close to life are important components of textbooks and important resources for teaching.Textbook illustrations have the functions of stimulating students'interest in learning,enriching classroom teaching content,providing specific methods and guidance,decorating text content layout and providing emotional education carrier.However,in the actual teaching,there are a series of problems such as insufficient attention and improper methods,which make the function of textbook illustrations unable to fully play.On the basis of summing up the previous research conclusions,combining with their own classroom teaching experience in secondary schools,through investigation and daily observation,to study this topic.In this paper,the illustrations in the textbook''Morality and Rule of Law"in the second volume of eighth grade edited by the Editorial Press are used as illustrations.Firstly,it elaborates the illustrations and their functions of the textbook Morality and Rule of Law,including the meanings of illustrations,textbook illustrations,textbook illustrations of Morality and Rule of Law,and the types,characteristics and functions of illustrations in the textbook Morality and Rule of Law.Then,based on the data of questionnaire survey and group interview,combined with observation and reflection in personal teaching,the main problems of teachers'using textbook illustrations and students'using textbook illustrations are summarized.Then,in view of these problems,we analyze the causes of these problems from three perspectives:the traditional education mode,some teachers'own factors and the learning status ofjunior high school students.Finally,based on the analysis of the reasons and problems,the author tries to find out the countermeasures to improve the illustration utilization of the textbook Morality and Rule of Law.In short,textbook illustration research is a major content of textbook research.Appropriate and targeted use of textbook illustration is conducive to improving teaching effectiveness and achieving teaching objectives.Through this study,the author hopes to help students better perceive and understand the textbooks,and also put forward some suggestions for moral and rule of law teachers'teaching in middle schools.
