The academy was a place for Chinese scholars to conduct cultural research,creation and educational dissemination and communication;and ancient scholars carried out activities such as collecting,repairing,writing,reading books and teaching through the academy.The academy,as a supplement to the official school,had the function and mission of engaging in cultural communication and helping to educate and civilize the public.Many famous academies in Chinese history were not only the center of the academic activities,but also an important place to promote education in the society.It was a social product which manifested the demand for cultural education.The communication activities of the lectures of the Ming Dynasty were an important way for the academy to promote cultural communication to the society.It also has the role of cultural communication and education.It is an important cultural ground for the generation and dissemination of social ideology.At that time,scholars spread their Confucianism thoughts to the society through lectures,especially during the establishment of the ideological mainstream status of "wang zhan" in the late Ming dynasty.The lectures played an important role in the dissemination,which provided rich soil for the formation of social thoughts of "wang zhan".The dissemination activities of the college also included the implementation of social education with Confucian ethics facing the local areas.The academies in the Ming dynasty spread Confucianism to the local socliety,almost radiating to the whole society at that time,affecting people of all levels.In the Ming dynasty,the activities of the academy lecture were not limited to a teaching form in the academy.They were often extended to local academic gatherings,which were not only opened to scholars,but also accessible to the general public and even the peasants,greatly enhancing the influence of the dissemination of Confucianism in the academy.Rural academies mainly carried out enlightening education.They are widely distributed and had a considerable number,which were integrated with traditional Chinese learning and social studies.In addition,they had been combined with traditional enlightenment and local conventions to expand the educational scope.It has played an important role in the cultivation of Confucianism in the grassroots society by nurturing virtue and mortality,influencing the people and form moral customs,preaching the imperial edict,honoring the goodness and rectifying evil.Through the study of Ming dynasty academy,this paper will mainly focus on cultural broadcasting activities,exploring variations in communicator and audience of Confucianism,communication content,and the change in the mode of transmission,etc.Meanwhile,discussing the plebeian trend in the broadcasting activities of Ming dynasty academy as well as the impact of the very tendency on the various aspect such as economy and culture of Ming dynasty will also be included in this paper.
