With the continuous advancement of the global basic education reform,STEM education originated in the United States has become a research hot spot in the field of education.STEM education integrates science,technology,engineering and mathematics.It emphasizes the cultivation of comprehensive talents who can adapt to social development through the integration and integration of multiple disciplines.Such training objectives coincide with those required by the newly promulgated "Geography Curriculum Standards for Senior High Schools" in 2018.In order to understand the manifestation of STEM education in the United States and provide a model for the integration of STEM education into secondary education in China,this paper,from the perspective of STEM education and on the basis of literature analysis,analyses the selection of knowledge points and presentation of content of the textbook,and analyses the main high school geography textbook "Scientific Discoverer Geology,Environment and Universe" in the United States.This paper mainly consists of the following chapters:Chapter ?,Introduction.This paper introduces the research background of the article from three aspects:STEM has become the hot spot of American education reform,STEM education meets the new curriculum standards to cultivate students' geographic core literacy and textbooks are the important carriers of education reform,and clarifies the significance of this stud(?).Then it summarizes the research status of STEM education and textbook analysis at home and abroad,determines the specific research program of the article,and puts forward the technical route of the research.And the innovation of the article.Chapter ?,the definition of core concepts and theoretical basis.Starting from the core concepts,this chapter deeply interprets and defines the theme concepts "STEM education" and "textbook analysis",and discusses the theoretical basis of the study,including constructivism,textbook compilation principle and Bloom's cognitive goal classification theory.Chapter three is the analysis of knowledge points in STEM-based Scientific Discoverer textbook.This chapter first classifies knowledge points according to STEM coding table,and presents the results in the form of tables.Then statistical analysis of the data is carried out to analyze the breadth,depth and integration of knowledge.Chapter ?,content organization analysis of STEM-based "Scientific Discoverer"textbook.On the basis of the analysis of knowledge points in the third chapter,we continue to carry out in-depth analysis of the textbooks,mainly from the perspective of the design of the textbooks,content arrangement,presentation of knowledge points,value orientation and so on.Chapter 5,the inspiration of STEM textbook analysis to the compilation of Geography Textbooks in China.Starting from the characteristics and problems of high school geography textbooks in China,this paper summarizes the characteristics and problems of the current four editions of high school geography textbooks on the basis of previous studies,summarizes the Enlightenment of American textbooks on the optimization of Geography Textbooks in China,and summarizes the Enlightenment from the selection of knowledge points and the organization of content.Chapter ?,conclusions and prospects.This paper summarizes the basic conclusions of this paper,and reflects on the shortcomings of this paper.Finally,the future research in this field is considered and prospected.
