Considering the importance of regional geography in the junior geography,two characteristics of geography of the region and complexity have been contained in the New Course Standards.Based on the basic idea of building the open geography classroom,more and more new student-oriented teaching methods have sprung up,such as situational teaching method,problem-base teaching method,cooperative teaching,flipped classroom and so on.But there are some limitations of those new methods,such as only focusing on the part of students,the faked student-oriented discussion part and the polarization.How to make every student get improved in their own Zone of Proximal Development and to build up their confidence in geography learning is at all imminent.The Student autonomous teaching applied in the junior regional geography classroom is put forward under this background.Through a large number of literature readings,this paper summarizes the domestic and foreign research status of the "student autonomous teaching " method and defines the basic conception;The theoretical basis of the teaching method is constructed based on humanism theory,cognitive theory and constructivism theory and so on;The teaching method is theoretically analyzed in terms of feasibility,applicability,teaching principles,operational procedures,student psychology construction,and comparison with other teaching methods;The validity of the teaching method is preset and verified by experiments,questionnaires,interviews,etc.;The analysis data is collected on the view of the applicability,effectiveness and influencing factors of the teaching method from the perspectives of teachers and students to be further improved.The conclusions are drawn and the follow-up outlook is proposed.Most of the research contents on this teaching method at home and abroad are about theories,student management and effectiveness research.Few of them focus on the teaching but lack of specific operational norms.Most of the experimental subjects are colleges and universities,high school,and less applied to junior high school.The application of geography teaching in junior high school is fewer,which is the innovation and research value of this paper.Based on the theoretical system of constructing this teaching method,this paper carries out practical verification and improvement.The teaching method is feasible on the view of the teaching content,the academic situation and the idea,which is also applicable from the teaching objectives,teaching content,teaching time,teaching facilities conditions and teachers' quality.Following the principles of autonomy,rationality,cooperation,holistic and motivating,it contains a simple,actionable process of pre-course gathering-taking turns in class by students-multi-evaluation after class.Teachers need to mobilize students' learning enthusiasm,improve the cultivate self-confidence in geography learning and maintain the initiative of students' learning from learning needs,motivations,attitudes and interests in the implementation process.After the experiment,it turns out that most of students like and adapt to this method in the middle school regional geography classroom.The teaching method is effective for each student's geographic achievement,reading ability,analytical ability,the cultivation of interest,self-confidence of learning,verbal ability,logical thinking ability and growth thinking mode.However,due to the characteristics of the junior high school students in the implementation process,the effectiveness of the teaching method is affected by many factors.Teachers need to help students to overcome their psychological barriers by encouraging students to conduct multiple evaluations in the process of teacher-student interaction and select contents which are more interesting or simpler,belonging to the recent development areas of students.Teachers have to control the length of teaching time to balance the teaching progress and the actual course progress.Although the implementation of the teaching method in the junior high school regional geography classroom is influenced by many factors,it is still feasible and effective.It is truly oriented to all students and enhance the geography learning confidence and interest of students,especially those students with weak geographical level.It is a teaching method suitable for junior high school regional geography,which can cultivate growth-oriented thinking and make each student get a different degree of development.
