With the improvement of living standards, people pay more attention to their health and gradually realize its importance. The youth determines the future of the nation, and their health condition is related to the prosperity of the country. However, due to the age characteristics and the impact of modern fast-food diet habit, the adolescent also face with many potential health risks, and more and more adolescents suffer from problems such as diabetes, obesity and myopia. In this study,a survey of the health literacy of grade seven students of a middle school in Haikou was carried out in the ways of questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that their mastery of health knowledge and health skills and the appropriation of their healthy behavior were generally in a low level,so as the their health literacy.Based on the survey of the present situation of the health literacy of middle school students, the author put forward three teaching strategies: context-cultivation teaching strategy,demonstration-imitation teaching strategy and real example teaching strategy. And three kinds of activity strategies: the organization of the health-related theme class meeting, practical extracurricular activities, and subject cooperation to carry out health lectures.According to the above strategies, the author carried out a one-year health teaching experiment. In the end, students' health literacy was tested by questionnaires.X2 test and T test were used to verify whether the difference of students' health literacy before and after the experiment was significant. The results showed that the health knowledge, behaviors and skills of junior students had been improved remarkably, and the difference was significant. The experiment proves that the author's strategies are valid and effective, and the study hopes to provide practical basis for relative research about improving junior students' health literacy and serve as a paradigm for biology teaching in junior schools.
