Research On Strategies Of Improving Students’ Health Literacy In High School Biology Teaching

The report of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China clearly pointed out the need to implement the "Healthy China Strategy";it has become a consensus to improve the health literacy of the whole people and the ability of the people to maintain their own health.In recent years,the physical fitness of young people has continued to decline,and health problems have occurred frequently.This article studies how to infiltrate health education and improve students’ health literacy in high school biology teaching from two aspects of theory and practice.In terms of theoretical research,this article sorts out the literature on health literacy in the fields of public health and subject teaching.In terms of school education,in addition to specialized health education courses,subjects such as biology,physical education,and chemistry are all important carriers for improving health literacy.In middle school biology teaching,the penetration of health education is mostly carried out in a certain aspect such as nutrition and health or adolescent health,but there is a lack of attention to the effect of health education and whether health literacy is improved.Therefore,this research will use research methods such as surveys,interviews and teaching experiments to propose strategies for improving students’ health literacy in high school biology teaching,and evaluate the effect of teaching practice under the guidance of strategies.First of all,this study used questionnaires to understand the current status of high school students’ health literacy,existing health problems,and students’ attitudes towards infiltration of health education in biology teaching.The results show that: 1)The current high school students’ health literacy levels are low,especially in the two dimensions of basic knowledge and concepts,and healthy lifestyles and behaviors;2)High school students’ health problems are mainly manifested in diet and nutrition and personal hygiene.These problems All are highly compatible with the content of biology teaching;3)Students hold a positive attitude towards infiltration of health education in teaching.Secondly,through interviews and investigations,we understand the ideas and practices of middle school biology teachers to improve their health literacy in their teaching practice.Combining the thinking,practice and suggestions of frontline teachers,and on the basis of theoretical research,the final selection and summary of "situational teaching strategies,intuitive teaching strategies,exploratory teaching strategies,carrying out health-themed practice activities,conducting health lectures,and organizing health-themed classes" Such as operable teaching strategies.Finally,this article takes Biology Compulsory One as an example.Under the guidance of the above-mentioned teaching strategies,a teaching case design of infiltrating health education is carried out.And used in teaching experiments.The experiment was conducted in two classes(control class and experimental class)with no significant difference in the level of health literacy in a certain high school.The experimental class implements teaching according to the teaching strategy of infiltrating health education,and the control class uses conventional teaching methods according to the traditional teaching method.After the experiment,the health literacy level questionnaire is used to analyze the implementation effect.The results show that: 1)After the experimental teaching,the health literacy level of the experimental class students has been significantly improved;among them,the health literacy level of infectious disease prevention,chronic disease prevention,safety and first aid has increased significantly;2)In the three dimensions of health literacy,The experimental class is significantly better than the control class in terms of basic knowledge and philosophy dimensions(p=0.029)and healthy lifestyle and behavior dimensions(p=0.02);among the 6 types of health problems,the experimental class is in the prevention of infectious diseases(P=0.047)And chronic disease prevention(P=0.031)category 2 was significantly better than the control class.This article has carried out the practice of high school biology teaching infiltrating health education,and evaluated the teaching effect.This research has certain theoretical and practical significance for the research of improving students’ health literacy in high school biology teaching.
