With the overall advancement of quality-oriented education,more and more people have realized that fine arts education plays an irreplaceable role in cultivating students’ comprehensive quality.Printmaking is an art form that combines handwork and painting.The working process is relatively complicated and requires students to use their hands and brains simultaneously,which is in corresponding to the curious and active characters of students at the stage of primary school.Since its introduction into the classroom in the 1980s,the fine arts quality education has been further improved.With the development of science and technology,KT board foam materials have come into being with features of light weight,convenience for sculpture as well as inexpensiveness,which replace the previous wood boards and copper plates,making the popularization of printmaking at the stage of primary school much easier.Based on the above reasons,blow molding paper printmaking was introduced in 2014 to the PEP edition of fine arts textbooks’ second volume of fourth grade of primary school.However,there is only one class period.The printmaking system in the compulsory education stage is incomplete,and students’ understanding of printmaking is still to be enhanced.The second classroom of fine arts as the supplementation and extension of students’ study enables students to continue learning systematic fine arts knowledge in depth in their extracurricular time.With characteristics of easy availability of materials,simplicity of tools and uniqueness of effect,blow molding prints was introduced into the second classroom for study.This study first expounds the characteristics,development process and significance of blow molding prints on children’s development.Then,it analyzes the advantages of second classroom of fine arts,prints teaching,and prints learning in the school.Subsequently,the practical approaches and methods of blow molding prints are explored from the teaching objectives and contents based on aesthetic education curriculums in the school.Teaching practice of blow molding prints in the second classroom is divided into three,including initial,middle and late stages.At the initial stage,engraving,printing and other basic techniques of printmaking are studied.At the middle stage,techniques and working process are familiarized.At the late stage,local resources Wuyang Peasant Painting and history and culture Bricks of Fish Texture are combined for creation.Finally,think about developing direction in the future combined with introspection after practical teaching.Students enjoy the fun in the printmaking process,and their humanistic education are also strengthened in the meanwhile.
