Teachers like Zhang Guilin and Niu Guisheng had tried to introduce prints into classroom teaching by the way of afterschool programs in the 1980s, which makes prints play more important role in basic education of fine arts. Viewpoints like "prints can help to exercise the coordination of children’s hands, eyes and brains", "prints can improve children’s willpower and concentration", and "prints need to draw as well as making by hands which could cater for the children’s nature of playing games", proving that introducing prints in primary school is beneficial and necessary. Over thirty years has passed, at the beginning, prints teaching only tried by some individual teachers, and then it has been introduced into syllabus, curriculum standards and teaching materials. All these make fine arts educators pay more and more attention on the significance and value of prints. However, with the development of prints teaching, the hidden problems in this area have to be aware of. In the fine arts classroom in primary school, can teachers set up necessary prints teaching in regular classroom or not according to the requirements of<compulsory education of fine arts curriculum standards (version 2011)> and the suggestions of teaching materials.In accordance with the real situation of the students, this article adopts unit teaching design and school teaching experiments. This article also puts forward a series of prints theme which contains culture, life and history which give a specific introduction of prints and let the students grasp the basic knowledge and skills of prints. Moreover, in the teaching design, this article attaches great importance to deliver the fine arts knowledge meanwhile it avoids too much emphasis on skill training.The thesis is composed of three parts:Part one:combing the development of prints teaching in China, it will focus on introducing Niu Guisheng and Zhang Guilin who have promoted the development of prints teaching. Then through introducing the present status of prints teaching in China, the imbalance of prints teaching will be listed.Part two:understanding the present status of fine arts and prints base in representative schools in Jinhua Region through questionnaire; combining curriculum and the teaching materials to analyze the necessity of prints teaching in primary school; comparing the differences in teaching syllabus, curriculum standards and teaching materials in china and abroad to gain the enlightenment.Part three:after studying the experiences of predecessors in fine arts teaching area, design unit prints lesson example and develop a strategy which adapts to the prints teaching in primary school of general area.
